Monthly Archives: December 2017
However you feel called to put closure to 2017 and welcome in 2018, the energies seem to point to an inward focus on extra nourishing self love on all levels. What ever has been nudging you softly or loudly, would be key to listen to and take action on for yourself. January 1st, 2018 will really kick off with a watery bang, as we enter the year with a Full Supermoon in Cancer alongside other planets also in Scorpio and Pisces – water everywhere! Pretty powerful stuff to start off this 11/2 year numerologically.
A lot of emotional, relationship, and sexual dynamics will continue to surface worldwide and present potential for resolutions, although they may feel explosive at first.
The end of 2017 has been more internal for me as I root and anchor energies in that I’ve been putting into motion over this last year, create our new sanctuary space, enjoy deeper connecting with Astrid, and get focused on what I am creating in 2018.
The forest around us has been the perfect environment and energy with all of this. It’s been amazing to reflect on all of the transformations that have taken place so quickly.
It’s incredible how much has happened this year and it’s almost surreal that it DID happen, as it was all wonderfully surprising to experience the greater expansion that took place with the way things manifested by listening and following the flow of energy.
I’ve been in reflection and in active mode of completing things, as I feel the second 2018 kicks in, things are going to move fast into the new directions that have been anchored. I’m already feeling the streaming in of that the last few days and today feels to be the last day of that slower movement forward because of the work and foundations that were being put into place.
Kind of reminds me of the squirrels and chipmunks I see constantly here around the house, scurrying around gathering nuts….I feel that’s what we’ve been doing, stocking up, nourishing, and prepping everything for this Winter of movement behind the scenes that is exploding quickly. The Winter has been delayed here, in comparison to last year’s biggest snow year in like 50 years, so there’s a sense of changing seasons with everything and surprises underway.
I’ve been feeling and saying that 2018 feels very pivotal in a new way. And since all the planets are going direct the day after the Full Supermoon, this seems to reiterate that feeling.
I’ve found reflections of completions and the very old me flowing through for full release and goodbye, as I completely leave behind all that is NOT now.
I’ve been a bit quieter online than usual because of these internal shifts, which is why you don’t see me as often right now.
I will continue to ride that out and flow with where the energy takes me into the New Year so that I can put focus where it is needed.
I really feel the excitement and freedom of moving beyond anything I have been doing and have been, to be the whole of me untethered by any past.
Astrid has been reflecting the same and together I sense an explosive year of creating together. She’s been shifting incredibly the last few days and getting revved up now that we have our shared room to work together in. We’re both excited.
So, where are you feeling called?
What feelings are holding you back from things?
You can utilize the energy of this Full Moon to bring to light those places of insecurity and fear, self-doubt and self-sabotage.
When we face those, we uncover the hindrances we’ve lent power to and reveal the answers to how to remove the obstacles and propel ourselves forward.
Wishing everyone an illuminating Full Moon, reflective New Year’s Eve, and a 2018 of harmony and consistency between thoughts, emotions, and actions. This will help manifest things efficiently and clearly.
I felt nudged to repost this blog I wrote two years ago, to the day, as the theme of souls transitioning continues to amp up, just as I had spoken about in the post. This has been so in my own life and for many friends I know, as well as past clients and people in general. In the last two years since the post I’ve seen both my bunny loves, Joy and Cosmo, a beautiful friend who was only in her early 30’s, several family friends and extended family, animal companions of close friends, dear friends of friends all departing and just two nights ago – a woman I grew up with who was like a third grandma to me (but in many ways my closest grandma because she lived just down the street from us) who departed just 3 months short of 101. And although my great, great uncle (102) and aunt (95) I met for the first time in Australia this year are still alive, they are unfortunately ailing greatly since I last left them. I also went through my own “window” of personal transition during this time, where I too nearly joined them all. If not for choosing anew, having Cosmo and the Magick Bus come along, and deciding to recreate completely freed from and complete with all contracts, I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this right now from my own renewed place of peace and deeper understanding of this thin veil between life on Earth and life in the Beyond.
There continues to be a lot of souls choosing to transition at this time (both in human and animal bodies) and many others experiencing recurring or new serious health challenges.
It really is beyond our solely human capacities to understand and grasp the why’s around this. Nothing makes sense to the heart that feels a sense of attachment to special souls in our lives and that wants greatly to have that physical closeness and tangible presence with us always.
And yet, we do grasp, at least in the conceptual way, that there is something beyond our understanding and that these souls, although depart physically, are truly never far from us.
It’s our emotions, attachments, and personal desires that struggle with this.
And it takes time to heal those wounds we feel and to come to a deeper place of resolve and peace that can’t happen because of what someone tells…

It’s been a big week so far, beginning with warm celebrations at my family’s house in Reno for Christmas, some completions, and a huge day today for Astrid. I was able to complete my office, except for a new sliding glass door and three special things to hang, which meant it was time for the reveal to her. And boy was it the best day of her life, and my life with her, yet! She had a huge day of joyful tears, soulful release, and courageous leaps – quite literally!
This mirrors me, as I’ve been reflecting on all that has completed and is about to begin in my own life, which was reiterated by the Tarot cards I pulled on Christmas.
My family and I always pull cards at the holidays to see what current theme is streaming through and what the New Year holds for us. All of them were very accurate, and mine were no exception to that.
They spoke to the rebirth taking place for me, an inner calling surfaced, release from all karmic ties, and everything coming together in my life story as I reach a significant stage on my journey.
Synchronously, the last week or so I’ve had an influx of people inquiring for services I have let go of and items I used to offer. To all of them I politely said no, but shared my gratitude for the reflections. It’s become much easier to do this, as I get the clearest yet about myself and what I want and don’t want.
As I felt into the messages of the cards, it was such a relieving confirmation and when I saw Astrid’s joy today and felt and heard her own release and depth of gratitude, I knew we were riding this new path together in all ways. Her feelings were mine reflected, and vice versa.
I will soon share a post on Astrid’s explorations and fun in our new shared room, which got its name a few days ago.
For now I’ll just share this one tiny peek of her in one of her play areas, standing tall and proud, and want to express the touching moment for us.
After she explored a bunch, she returned to the center of the room where I sat. Normally when she’s excited, she’s very interested in doing her own thing and will jet off if you come to her. But this time she came right to me and I put my hand on her head and caressed her softly, as we shared words.
Her eyes softened and lids lowered and she melted into my hand. All I could hear and feel was her joyous release and appreciation.
Like me, she’s had a long, hard journey.
Like me she’s waited patiently and kept going and believing, even when there seemed no hope.
Like me, she is experiencing the best time of her life now and receiving reflections of all the work she’s put into things, come to fruition…finally.
I could see her past and all she went through to get to this moment…how she waited for the right time and person to adopt her.
No one would and kept passing her by because they couldn’t “see” her.
She waited nearly three years, which is a lot for a little rabbit, as all of her friends at the rescue got adopted and left her behind.
And now, here she was, being gifted a magickal rabbit playroom fit for the queen that she is.
It was all overwhelming for her in a beautiful full circle way.
I felt both of our hearts open wider and our connection deepen, as we both shed tears of gratitude.
I knew her journey, as it mirrored so much of my own.
I’ll share again more in an upcoming post, but today was a huge day for us both. And on top of that, she learned to go up and down the big staircase all on the same day.
I knew she could do it, but thought it might take longer.
Astrid proved her bravery, as within a couple of hours she was up the stairs. And just a bit ago, she made it down.
It was such a cute process….the down that is, as she kept coming to me to help her. She kept nosing my ankles and then tugged on my pant legs with her teeth, to help. So I gave her a pep talk and went to the stairs to show her how. It took a little while, as she kept checking the first step down and then circling to regroup. And then it was done.
Today was a BIG day for both of us on so many levels. Speaks to the New Year to come!
Here are some photos from our lovely Christmas we all shared as a family, which was festive, fun, and full of giggles and yummy vegan feasting! Grateful to have parents that support our vegan lifestyle and always make, buy, or search out vegan restaurant options for us. My brother (who is absent in the photos due to camera shyness, but far from absent in the shenanigans shared) is vegan and was actually vegan a few years before I even knew what being vegan was. Both my mom (makes the entrees) and dad (makes the desserts) got in on the vegan creations and sent us home with care packages and apple dumplings to enjoy for the mornings.
Grateful also to have Faery folk as parents, which brings to Christmas and all holidays the magick I love.
Such warmth shared all around! And wonderful gifties too!
I hope everyone that celebrates Christmas enjoyed a warm, peace, and love filled one and that the holiday season (however you celebrate or don’t) was a perfect reflection of you.
Faery kisses to all!
Last evening, on Christmas Eve, I surprised Astrid with the first of many gifts…following in the footsteps of my parents who always let us open one gift on Christmas Eve.
I was happy to see she approved, as you can see in the photos and video of her diving right in on her special hay candy canes, fidget sticks and vines of oat and timothy hay, digging away at her Frosty the Snowman stocking to get at them.
This morning her tummy was happy again when I presented her special holiday blends and an herbal medley that included cranberry apple mixed with timothy and oats and elder flowers, rose hips, jasmine blossoms, rose petals, and dandelion leaf.
Yes, she’s a spoiled bunny, but after all she is my child and I do love her so! I want her healthy and happy so that she is able to do the work she has come here to do.
You can bet I’ll be sharing photos of her exploring her other big gifts in her bunny/faery Wonderland.
I’ve created our shared dream magickal room to be both functional and fun (so it’s whimsical, but not over the top), and of course filled with Nature’s magick, Cosmic portals, secret Otherworld friends and surprises, and inner child imagination.
Anyway, just wanted to share the joy of this first Christmas with Astrid and in our new home – which is our big Christmas gift to ourselves and our little furry family (the kitties definitely are also in dreamland with all the places to play, sleep, and check out the critters outside).
Yesterday was a quiet and perfect Christmas Eve relaxing, Dave went skiing in the morning and this morning, while I’ve wrapped gifts and planted all 105 new succulent babies, ate yummies, watched Netflix, and enjoyed beautiful nature time walking along Zephyr Cove.
That was lovely being greeted by five ducks who hung out and finding a yellow citrine, heart-shaped stone that embodied Joy’s energy.
Today, we’re off to spend the holiday with my family this year, so we’re heading down to Reno in a bit here for feasting and gifties in their Winter wonderland Faery home all decked out in Christmas decorations for the festivities.
Wishing everyone a joyous holiday and peace on Earth to all (furry, elemental, organic, human, and the like!)
Enjoy this Christmas Tree Temple off our backyard deck.
Sending out magickal wishes, sprinkles of pixie dust, and bunny nose twitches of energetic potency and love! Christmas Eve has always been a special time for my inner child and I’m so grateful it falls on Joy’s birthday, as she embodies the feelings evoked from this magickal time of the year. Today, she would have been 14 in Earth years, but now she flies free with our Cosmic family as the eternal light of peace and joy that she is, spreading her message and support from the ethers.
Joy is such a sweetheart and had a huge love for her crystal friends. Perhaps it’s because they reflect her crystalline heart….or perhaps she knew they were reminders of harmonic resonance and keepers of Earth’s natural frequency.
It resonates with my heart to spread harmonic love collectively across the Earth today and a reminder to do that always.
This is a good day to give thanks to Mother Earth for all of her gifts. We are in the energy of the keepers of the garden of Earth whose focus is that of aligning with the Earth’s natural cycles and energies. A good and powerful time to connect with the dynamic forces of nature and spread love to all of Earth’s children.
I am grateful for the beauty all around and honor every being now and always. So much precious magick to experience with your heart.
This year it is Astrid who is by my side, sharing her very first Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s celebration with us. I couldn’t think of a more perfect companion and reflection of the new energy to have here and join in with our Cosmic family (Nestor, Joy, Gaia, and Cosmo) who fill our new home with love and magick.
Astrid joins me in honoring her dear sister Joy and in reminding us to remember and embody the “joy” and wonder that you are now….and always.
A magickal Christmas Eve to all beings.
May your hearts grow in depth and size with each embracive breath taken.
Magickal Solstice blessings to all…a gift of song from Lee Harris to celebrate your presence here on Earth.
I’ve been immersed in house stuff here in an all-consuming way these days, but am beginning to see the light and space is opening for more. Yesterday a lot of major things came to closure with the house, including the end of a 4 1/2 day stint my mom put in to help me out with the hardest stuff here. We still have a couple of last big projects to finalize and then some last minute tie-ins, but we’re almost there and the days of having several teams of contractors in the house all at once are over. Holding the peace within chaos will now simply settle into pure peace.
And the timing couldn’t be more perfect, as winds started blowing in a little storm last night and this morning we woke to it snowing, perfectly timed to create a wonderland for Winter Solstice tomorrow. Timing all around truly is aligned for Christmas gifts galore and our having some stillness and relaxing for the holiday and New Year.
The seasons remind you of the ever-shifting and flowing cycles of life, change, and potential to honor and make space for. Winter Solstice reminds you of the light that you are, as a gateway of sacred reverence for a “return to light” in general.
I find it perfect that our fireplace is 95% complete, and will be finalized tomorrow on the Solstice…wonderful way to ring in this change of season with the flame of warmth and inner truth.
You can visualize this as well in seeing the light and inner fire of your heart and soul expanding and filling your entire body and emanating out and joining with the light of our Great Central Sun, allowing yourself to take up more space and be who you really are.
This entire home remodeling project definitely mirrors, to me, a support to that – being “me” – and the ending of the old and the onset of the new, as well as that movement inward at this time of year to do anchor in things that will be blossoming soon.
I’m super grateful to my mom who always comes to the rescue to help whenever I have moved over the years. She’s helped with all moves except the one from house to RV – Magick Bus – and back to house after that journey. We always get tons done quickly and inhumanly at times – all the while laughing along the way. We are definitely a two-Faery team that moves mountains! There’s nothing we can’t do.
I’m especially excited because my new office/Faery/Bunny Magick Room is 90% complete, which means I’ll be in action here shortly again – full throttle! Loving how it’s come together and how Astrid’s things are looking. I haven’t introduced her to it yet because I’d like it all complete before that. Plus, her new abode and things are meant as Christmas gifts to her. So the timing should be perfect for the big reveal on that to her too!
I’ll share photos when things are complete. I’m looking forward to getting back to my creative projects and especially full time on my book.
I was able to jump into it twice recently, which felt really good and got Astrid all excited, as she sat by my feet nosing me the whole time and acting as my little helper and guardian to ensure no one bothered me.
She’s been shifting a lot again lately, which is fun to see. Getting super interactive, snuggly, and doing her work moving energy through the house. With my mom here a few days she was also able to connect more with her Grandma, which was sweet so they have a stronger channel of communication between them now.
Reading my story from the Forest Portal felt oh so good. I could sense the energy difference and also how that will help with the editing process for sure. Other than getting our house in shape, my book is the most important project to me.
My loved ones, learning to anchor in more peace and more harmony, communing with Nature, tuning into the Cosmos, and being more and more me are my greatest joys and focuses these days.
That’s a little update here from the Forest Portal and how things are aligning and shaping up for the Solstice, Christmas, and the New Year. We’ll be spending Christmas at my family’s house and I’ll be continuing to finalize and anchor in things here so the New Year will be fresh and fertile for the new.
Wishing everyone an inner illuminating, peace and harmony filled Winter Solstice.
This is a beautiful article by Danielle Prohom Olson. As we approach Winter Solstice may this share awaken ancient memories and the true spirit of the season for you. Thank you also to Laura Bruno for sharing this and bringing it to my attention.
Oh wondrous headed doe… Amongst its horns it carries the light of the blessed sun…” Hungarian Christmas Folk Song
Long before Santa charioted his flying steeds across our mythical skies, it was the female reindeer who drew the sleigh of the sun goddess at winter solstice. It was when we “Christianized” the pagan traditions of winter, that the white bearded man i.e. “Father Christmas” was born.
Today it is her beloved image that adorns Christmas cards and Yule decorations – not Rudolph. Because unlike the male reindeer who sheds his antlers in winter, it is the larger and stronger doe, who retains her antlers. And it is she who leads the herds in winter.
So this season, when we gather by the fire to tell children bedtime stories of Santa and his flying reindeer – why not tell the story of the ancient Deer Mother of old? It was she…

Our new front door is in, which feels symbolic of creating a new doorway and portal into a fresh reality, as access from a whole new internal circuitry we’re building. Although we still have to put in a peephole viewer, which will provide greater vision, each time I open it and enter or greet someone, it’s pretty incredible how it feels like a different world on both sides.
One of the things I love in this house is the doors, as we have these antique, vintage, wood doors at each entry to a room and some of the closets that come from an old mansion in Reno. These are one of the only things we kept for now, from the original decor, as they have this unique charm and energy, and add an interesting mix of mystery and story to the modern upgrades taking place. Once remodeling is done, I intend to clean and shine them to bring out their rich wood color and make them really pop.
Each door is different and no two are the same in size. They also have their original old brass and copper hardware and knobs, which add personality to each. If they could each speak, they would reveal their own legend.
To me, they compliment the wise trees of the forest and the essence of this Forest Portal in creating different worlds and realities you cross thresholds into with each guardian door.
I love the mix of old and new, creating a feel of ancient portals themselves and symbolizing how we can write our own story with each new day and movement forward.
Another cool thing I discovered, which seems to happen all the time, is that the color we chose for our front door ended up being the perfect color in Feng Shui for its direction.
I’m no expert in Feng Shui and don’t know that much within that realm, as mostly I just do everything by intuition and inner guidance. However, I had a friend who is a Feng Shui expert visit our house in Costa Mesa once for a Reiki Master Teacher training with me and she went through the house to see what could be enhanced and told me that we’d already done everything energetically supportive, simply by intuition. She ended up just providing ways we could amp that up.
So, it was cool to discover we’d done the same with our front door and its color, without having researched it first.
We felt drawn to the color red maple, which is what you see in the photo and just recently I decided to look into whether or not this was aligned with Feng Shui, and in fact it was.
Our door faces Northeast and what I discovered is that the best colors (in order of most enhancing) for a Northeast facing door are earthy/sandy colors, terra cotta, yellow, burgundy, red, purple, deep orange, and rich pink.
The element for the direction of Northeast is Earth and its corresponding bagua energy (there are 8 of these) is Spirituality and Personal Growth. A bagua is like an energy map that reflects to you which areas of your home or a room are connected to specific areas of your life. However, you can enhance a Northeast facing front door by adding the element of Fire, which nourishes the Earth element by creating it. So adding the red, purple, deep orange, strong yellow, and rich pink, as mentioned above, are ways to do that.
So, our red maple color we chose was in every way perfect (red being the Fire and maple being the Earth), creating that earthy and terra cotta color – signatures of Northeast.
Your front door is a way your house absorbs energy that will help to nurture and cultivate your personal energy, so anything that can enhance this portal will help strengthen the overall energy available to you.
It’s fun to discover things after the fact, but we can also spend a little time looking into these things to help enhance energies in our lives, as a way of co-creating with the elements available for manifesting that alchemy of life we desire.
One of the things I’m grateful for and cherish most about my family is that my parents have always cultivated and kept alive the essence of the “inner child” for us. This is likely why they remain eternally youthful, both in appearance and expression, as they continue to play, be silly, laugh A LOT, and have fun always. My brother and I have continued in this vein, never fully growing up and keeping our innocence in tact, despite all that we’ve gone through in challenges.
Yesterday my parents came up from Reno to visit and we got to share with them our Forest Portal backyard, which was fun. My mom and I were two little Faeries, arm-in-arm, walking together along the path the whole way and me helping my mom across the creeks.
We stopped in the meadow where the light was dancing magickally, lighting things in gold, to take some fun Faery photos.
We peeked out from the grasses with mischievous joy and then rolled in endless laughter when my mom’s foot kept sinking into this dirt pile and couldn’t get back up!
I wrapped my arms around her to pick her up and we were stuck there in giggles until tears, unable to move for a while. Dave caught these fun photos of us.
The rest of the photos are of our walk and captures on the path, including some of the beauty, and our home on our return back.
Here are some words I’ve shared in the past about the power of the inner child and innocence.
Many of us have forgotten about our own inner child, or have lost it along the way, and in doing so, do not remember the power of hope and believing. Nurturing the imagination is vital and contains the ingredients necessary for manifestion. Anything you can envision and feel, IS possible.
When we realize that we have the power to manifest miracles in our lives, I believe we will responsibly learn to co-create. Whatever we choose to believe, is what our reality is. But if we don’t even know how to believe anymore or how to hope and dream, or how to choose consciously, then we are missing out on what life could be.
Doing my part is simply and authentically about expressing who I am, as a cohesive thread in the collective consciousness, through the unique form that I have to share (as we each uniquely have an expression of gifts to share with the world). In embracing ourselves and allowing that which we have inside to flow to all, we can create much beauty.
I have always resonated with children and animals, understanding that they hold a key to healing on a deeper level. Their naturally loving, expressive, playful, connective, and instinctual natures are important ingredients to integration. We have lost our innocence and natural ability to feel and to trust in our knowingness, as a result of forgetting our essence and from being out of tune with our bodies’ natural rhythms. Children and animals love us regardless of what we look like or how we may behave. They know what it means to love unconditionally and that is all they hope of us – that we will love them unconditionally.
Children are powerful in their vulnerability. In their innocent self expression, they emanate an aura of invincibility. To be vulnerable is to be powerful. Vulnerability is a sense of trust and the willingness to express yourself freely and without inhibitions. As we grow older, we lose our innocence and vulnerability, in place of self control and judgment. In a sense, we lose our authentic power.
Recapturing our child-like exuberance, opens the flow of joy and the electric energy of life to surge through us. To go farther than you ever thought possible, daring to explore the depths of your imagination, is truly being alive.
Dare to have fun, explore, laugh, love, believe, and dream. The world is yours to create. What do you want your life to look, feel, sound, taste, and smell like? Indulge your senses with your imagination…..
The child within awaits your loving recognition and nurturing, which in turn will unlock the door to your authentic and magickal experiences that await you.
Inner child work has always been a powerful seed “key” to creating change. And when done with unconditionally loving courage, can be the impetus for empowering yourself in unlimited ways.
We all have a child within that is in need of our loving acceptance. No matter how strong and self-reliant you think you are, there is a time for tender vulnerability in everyone’s journey that is needed to cultivate a garden that your child-like heart can creatively and expansively blossom in. This will provide astounding results in your current experience and with all that you intend.
As adults we carry with us false beliefs from the past that as children we learned to believe. A lot of that includes the things that we were taught was “wrong” with us and so the greatest rejection living with us today is the one to, and of, ourselves with these beliefs.
Listening to and softening our inner dialogue to embrace the perfection of all that we are, is a needed part of our daily practice. It is important to know ourselves to be whole and forgive ourselves, as well as revel in the quirky beauty that our inner child has to share.
Loving your inner child will support healing the darkest experiences by shining light on the beauty that was always there. This opens doorways that the Universe will support you with when you are willing to partner with it.
