We’re finally down to the wire with house renovation work, which means we’re beginning to find our new groove with what life will be like here without all the commotion and activity of contractors. We are basically done redecorating (I think we’re only waiting on one piece of furniture to arrive) besides minor touches I’m sure we’ll continue to fine-tune over time, only have a hand full of contractor days remaining (that will be spread throughout now and end of the month (so no more daily invasions), and are starting to get back to our longer hikes and Dave’s been getting out skiing.
One cool thing that completed this last week was our downstairs room we made into an exercise/meditation room, which we’ve never had before, but because the physical is equally as important, this is a good integration room. We feel it important to bring even more body and resonant/aligned types of exercise into our lives when we aren’t out in nature doing that, alongside the peace and stillness we’re bringing in. That’s a good way to ground, embody, and manifest too!
And speaking of exercise, we got out on some bigger hikes this week, which included hiking from our house to the lake for the first time. The full loop is about 4 and a half miles.
We are only a two mile hike away from Lake Tahoe and whether you go one way and back or take the loop, you’ll find yourself meandering through a variety of beauty to include, creeks, forest, meadows, rock outcrops, ponds, beach, and yes, the huge ocean-like lake.
We also discovered that in 18 minutes we can walk to our favorite Thai restaurant from our house or the Italian place next to it that has yummy vegan pizza. There’s also a hot pot place and a sushi place in the same complex – all with vegan options – so we can basically walk down for lunch if we want, not to mention can either walk or bike down to the beach in the summer to avoid the parking crowds. The same distance the other way also takes us to Safeway and all the shops there.
We’re constantly hit with surprises on why this house was so perfect for us and definitely creates a wellspring of things to be grateful for.
Alongside settling into life here and being able to focus more on other things besides the house, we’re gearing up for our first visitors in about a week and a half here.
However, in the meantime I’m finding it REALLY nice to be in the peace of my new shared office with Astrid and seeing my list of to-do’s dwindle completely away so that my time is freed for my book fully once again.
That’s a huge phew! as although I know getting the house anchored in was important, I have been hearing the call of my path saying, “it’s time!”
I will soon share photos of our new magick room where Astrid and I immerse in the good energies together and are master minding the new, but for now I thought I’d share some nature inspiration.
We are having a warm and late Winter so far, which means we’re still hiking and not snow shoeing yet, as we’ve only had 2-3 inches of snow dustings here about three times, even at 6600 elevation.
There’s more snow at the higher altitudes, but nothing close to last year’s record setting amounts, at all levels, and the overflowing creeks and rivers.
You definitely can’t predict anything anymore and it just makes you surrender into the beauty and surprise of the moment.
Like this beautiful, large grouse I noticed and who seemed to take note of us very deliberately.
Anyway, for my blog friends AND my mom who diligently follows along here as well, I thought I’d share some of Nature’s beauty recently from our getting back in the swing of things here. I post on Instagram, but know not everyone is on a social media platform.
To the reflection I see in you…..each and every one of you:
I honor your blossoming journey and the sweet fragrance of your soul.
Every day your delicate petals unfurl a little bit more, revealing the essence of who you are.
What do you see when you peer deeply to the core of you?
I see an angel recognizing their reflection for the first time and awakening into the embodiment of that grace.
Every day is opportunity to deepen into recognition and reverence of the individual journey… the unique frequency signature of each soul, and the beauty and richness that diversity brings to our lives and our growth.
Within each soul seed lies unlimited potential for expansion and creative enrichment within and without.
Let us sink gently into our hearts so that we may soften our relationship with ourselves, others, our animal brothers and sisters, Earth’s gardens, the here and beyond.
There is no threat to an open heart…only more love to be discovered beyond the lines you’ve chosen not to cross.
I couldn’t agree more with Lee on this…creativity has a power to shift everything. If you are not creating in some way, it will feel as if you are dying and in fact you ARE diminishing your life force because you are inherently a creative being. I discovered along the way that having different outlets of creativity truly helped activate more parts of my brain, but also of my heart, and definitely more of the latent parts of my DNA to come alive and awaken from their slumber. I found that rather than only have one outlet for creativity, by engaging and exploring multiple outlets this provided a constant surge of fresh energy to keep flowing, as well as helped to reinvigorate and inspire the avenue I had only been engaging until then – and of course accessed my multi-dimensional self.
This is why in the past my spirit was led to branch out from my paintings to doing commissions and animal portraits, but further diversifying to things like spiritual tattoo designs, crystal jewelry making, creating Faery wands, paintings magick stones, writing my first book and starting a blog, opening up to different forms of teaching and offerings, creating mini succulent gardens, growing my Garden Tower, sound channeling, redecorating my room or changing up my wardrobe, cutting or coloring my hair, or even stretching into different forms of paintings I’d never done and even having rabbits in my life – the ultimate abundant, fertile creativity spirit animals.
All in the vein of creativity being the essence of life and not a “hobby,” as Lee shares, and the more you engage it, the more life force, overall well-being, and expansion is available to you.
Although I’ve moved away from just about everything I mentioned above, the creativity Faery is still largely alive within me. Currently, that’s involved active creating of ventures Dave and I have been manifesting together and the huge project of completely renovating our new home and decorating it from the ground up.
It’s also been hugely invigorated by my having my own office again – the creative flame center of the home – newly decorated with lots of fresh stuff for Astrid as well.
It’s involved my mini succulent gardens that have expanded now and soon to include my Garden Tower again, come Spring.
And of course, in the meantime, my new book that although took a back-burner in the midst of the huge home renovation project, has now come around full-circle and is reinvigorated and inspired because of the break.
And the book is just the beginning of new branches to my “tree of life” (synchronously I brought home a new indoor Clusia tree for the house yesterday) to explore and expand upon, as I have a volcano of creative manifestations that the book opens the door to for this new year I kick off come my birthday’s transition of energy numerologically. I will go from an 11/2 year to a 12/3 year, bringing me back to my birth number 3, which is the creative child. So this year really should feel like being in my element and it’s no wonder I’ve been doing all of this ground work to free the flood ways for the tsunami of creativity a-flowin’.
Yet, it couldn’t flow unless I enaged it with curiosity, embrace, surrender to, and then committed action to bring it forth.
I share this as example of how this creativity has moved through me and how by tapping into other parts of my creativity, it’s not only helped open doors to new parts, but also in fact has multiplied the wellspring of creative energy I have available.
It’s assisted me in expanding, in manifesting, and in rebirthing when life hit a wall, at times became disappointing and uninspiring, or an end to one part of me had been reached.
It’s given me a new lease on life for now and provides unlimited amounts of joy and potentials I get to choose based on that alignment.
And, what I have discovered is that creativity helps you tap into your multi-dimensional self, which opens a plethora of possibilities.
Now, that ought to be a fun adventure, right?!
There truly is no end to what can be created, and created, and created…..
As Lee shares, active creativity “enlivens you and helps with depression, because depression is stifled and unused energy, and a disconnection” in general.
I love his little excerpt snippet videos that provide seeds of wisdom.
Here’s Lee on active creativity and its importance to your life:
Such a lovely share by my dear friend, and kindred spirit and nature lover, Mary. I hope it touches your heart, as her reflections and muses always do my own. This is a perfect and sweet reflection of life’s journey and the grace and ease inherently available to us with growth.

Reflecting all that is around it, a drop forms, a nourishing drip of melted snow. The branch experiences stillness, a quiet presence of possibility. The tree readies herself for the coming season.
Leaves sprout, holding and protecting the new born bud.
How did they get there? Did the tree have to run out somewhere and get it? No, it has been within the tree all along. The Truth is already inside us.
We just be, as we watch our lives flower and unfold.
The bud grows, still asleep, dreaming of her awakening.
She begins her unfolding, surrounded by her beloved sisters. Energy from deep in the soil nurtures them, as does the rain from the clouds.
She blooms, her sisters still dreaming of their own rites of passage. She experiences the sun, the dew and her community. She is fully present with…

Yes! I do remember the Rock Biter in The NeverEnding Story – a fav! (have the DVD too 😉 ) The rocks are alive indeed. Thanks Laura for sharing these incredible videos that merge worlds and bring us all closer to Nature’s mystery. Enjoy everyone!
I found a link to this video on RMN and just had to share the video images here. For those who spend much time in Nature, this will not come as a surprise, but seeing fifteen minutes of nonstop faces and bodies in the rocks synchronizes that inner knowing with tangible reality.
More from the same youtube channel creator, with explanations and photos detailing that these are natural occurrences, not photoshopped, carved, eroded, or otherwise manipulated.:
Those of you who remember The NeverEnding Story might find some similarities to the Rock Biter, but stories of rock people also abound in mythology and legends from around the world. This link will take you to some wise words from Dr. Sharon Blackie, sharing her own experiences and research into What Rock Knows. She includes snippets from Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series, yet another synchronous nod from our dearly departed and extremely…

Here’s Lee sharing on this new year of “love, fire, and action.” I definitely agree that it will “be a year of FAST EXTERNAL MANIFESTATION,” as he shares, and that embodiment is the key. Always resonant and reflective, I’ll let Lee express so beautifully, as he always does, what you can look forward to and ways to harness the energy.
One of the creeks behind our house is frozen over about half way down so you can walk across it and see the pockets of translucency and density. For some reason this brings to mind the questions of how we can be more compassionate and sensitive in handling very sensitive matters with others? How we can fine tune the balance of mindfulness and heart in understanding the individual journey and what it truly means to embody something unconditionally? No matter what spectrum of beliefs, ethics, and virtues we hold, it seems that the tendency is to make others wrong and to fight, ridicule, point fingers, assert our righteousness, or hurt others in effort to make them like us. This appeases the ego, but doesn’t take into account temperance of the heart. The ice cracks and the gap between greater connection and understanding widens. The anchor disappears, the bridge collapses, and with that the opportunity dissipates for seeding possibility of expanding our journey. When we remove compassion in its full embodiment, we increase the likelihood of disconnect and growth for everyone involved with the fostering of a deafening ear. There is something to learn from every point on the spectrum. Perhaps the next time we find ourselves “walking on thin ice” we can sink deeper into our hearts and ask ourselves the harder questions as to how we are living the example of our convictions.
(Reposting this from my Instagram page. I love what one friend reflected in addition…how the image of the ice looks like the surface of the Moon and mirrors the micro/macrocosm)
This short blog post popped up from a year ago and felt like one to share again to support walking through 2018 with a new awareness and more consistency with the compassion you may desire to embody. It’s about “being” the bigger person and what that really means.
When you find yourself in situations that increasingly call upon your awareness and consciousness about the unconditional compassion you’ve come to understand along your journey – perhaps even as a healer, “light worker”, teacher, guide, leader… there is opportunity to consistently put into action “being the bigger person.” It’s not an easy thing to do, as ego crops up in many ingenious ways to make you feel justified in coming at things from a place of needed validation or desire for certain results, whether you want to admit it or not.
If you decide to step into the role of being the bigger person, there’s then the challenge of truly embodying what that means and not caring/worrying about how you look. It isn’t simply to appear as a martyr while you silently hold onto ideas of how you want the other person to respond when you do, but is about…

A feel into 2018’s energies that will be available to the collective, from Kari Samuels. Thank you to Linette for sharing this. I know this energy well, as this was the energy of my personal year since my last birthday – an 11 year. That will be shifting for me come my birthday next month, but the energy she speaks about was certainly true for me (literally everything she shared about were the themes of my year to the “T”) and has made all of the difference by my aligning with it. I hope you find some inspiration and support from Kari, for navigating things in this new year.
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a safe, happy, and restful holiday. I certainly did, spending most of it together with my husband curled up in the warmth of our cozy home. It was a deeply restorative time for us, full of reflections on 2017 and daydreaming about 2018.
To help us best work with the flow of 2018’s energies, we turned to Kari Samuels, whose forecasts I regularly share here on this blog. She published her 2018 forecast just in time for our purposes, and I am sharing it here with you so that you are aware of some of the major themes for this year.
I hope you find it as useful as we did!
Astrid is excited for 2018! And together we are both wanting to share the joy, so here’s a cute little video of her jumping with glee (sorry the evening lighting is so dim) and her first morning, Full Supermoon of 2018 photo, bright-eyed and ready to get this party going! As promised, she and I sent in our Save A Bunny donation this morning from the holiday sales, which felt really good. Thank you to everyone who helped! We were so happy to hear they met their 2017 end-of-year donation goal, so we decided to be the first of 2018 to get things rolling there for the bunnies! Also a way for us both to anchor in what’s dearest to our hearts.
She and I did a big Reiki Healing Attunement last evening from our new magickal space, to put into motion all that we are working towards creating in 2018 and today there’ll be more intentional actions taken place to support these too.
Part of our New Year’s Eve was spent walking through the forest by moonlight (there was a faint rainbow ring around it), which was my favorite part of the evening besides being welcomed home by Astrid waiting for me in the exact place I’d left her upon leaving, on the very carpet in the video you see.
We shared tons of snuggles and kisses before I went to bed, but not until I’d fully satisfied both of our desires to connect and be with each other when the house was still and only she and I were up sharing tenderness and creating magick through our hearts.
Perfect way for us to start off the New Year immersed in love.
Hoppy New Year everyone!
