Celebrating Creative Community & Your Part of that Web

Santa Ana Art Walk

How did you create your own sacredness around yesterday’s New Moon energy? What intentions did you set and what commitments to your unique expression have you made?

My experience was, for me, the perfect, integrative, and intentful way to put closure to the weekend and to celebrate initiations of the new. I found another layer of clarity to my own focuses and welcomed more awareness all around. The day started in a morning hike and ended in four hours of sacred music for the heart and soul.

This weekend was also a very full experience of observing things that ran the gamut from simple to layered complexities, from the natural to the out-of-balance, and from experiencing sacred creativity, authenticity and community to witnessing duality, separation, illusions, denial, and fear.

I observed people’s choices reflect to them the stories they have chosen in what would be considered by some to be nice and not so nice experiences. I watched how easily illusions can consume people into addictive, hidden patterns that are slowly destructive, yet soulfully chosen for exponential growth opportunities. I also saw raw courage, vulnerability, connectivity, and instant transformations as result of responsibly embracing the learning provided in choice, which all created a fortified field of mirroring reflections to unfold.

In either case, the truth is, it all just IS. I can analyze it and attach a judgment or I can observe and move in and out, being honoring of “free will,” which knows exactly what it is doing in the grand scheme of things.

And such is life…a unified tapestry of wholeness that we can either choose to stay stagnant in the story of any one thing without taking personal responsibility, OR realize the fluidity of life and that all experiences are inherent in coming to understand the depth of creation itself, the perfection of what it is you have created to teach you, and perhaps doing so without staying stuck in victim or bully roles.

I choose to create what is a reflection of my truth and when not in an environment reflecting that, will hold the space of my heart’s authenticity and use the experiences playing out, as a way to further expand and deepen.

And even if the moment moves me through varying degrees of emotions and thoughts, in the end I am always left in grateful awe of how divine everything plays out. It truly is a masterpiece in creation.

That being said, it is a powerfully transformative time (as this Solar Eclipse New Moon in Scorpio gifted) presenting opportunity for major change and new beginnings, if you truly desire it and have the courage to go deep into the heart of you.

There were a lot of beautiful celebrations this weekend of visionary creativity being shared that I would like to bring back around the focus to.

Saturday night’s Santa Ana Art Walk Showcase with Orange County Creatives was the first of the collective, co-creative community celebrations. It was great to see friends that came out to support. I enjoyed talking with people that were interested to know more about crystals and my pieces and I loved talking with the other artists, viewing their work, and holding the energy of that co-creative space with them.

But it is the young artists putting their work out so courageously (for the first time) that I especially enjoy connecting with, as I love to support them in their passions and help to inspire them to continue to follow their dreams. That is a huge part of why I do what I do. I know what it feels like to be out there on your own in many ways, and yet there is so much value to that journey.

The life of a creative visionary is a gift that will bring a full circle of experiences, including the ups and downs in extremes at times. It is my hope to help keep the train chugging along the track they have chosen and to help lesson the down time.

“When we feel passion for something, it is because we are remembering what it was that we came here to do. The more passion we feel, the more in alignment with Source we are, allowing this energy to pour through us with no hesitation. This is the way it was meant to be.” —Karen Bishop

Sunday brought a gathering of vegan authors at the Animal Advocacy Museum’s Vegan Book Fair celebration, which was a wonderful showing of new authors sharing a wide variety of topics from natural health and global recipes, to the economics of the meat and dairy industry and the truth behind food labels. Again, another community supportive event promoting things of benefit to society through expressive means.

And, as mentioned, the Solar Eclipse New Moon evening ended perfectly at the gathering to celebrate sacred music, love, peace, and connection at the Deva Premal & Miten and GuruGanesha Band Escondido Concert. There was a ton of love in the concert hall of 1500 resounding hearts together in sacredness. One of the beautiful highlights was when Miten invited all of the men to stand and sing to the women. This was such a powerful experience of nearly half the participating gatherers standing in the power of their Divine Male in full honor, vulnerability, and integration of the Divine Female. Singing sacred chants, feeling the power of silence, and dancing in community creates a resounding vibration that has profound rippling effects.

Yes, the creative arts of all genres hold an intrinsic value that has meaningful impact, individually and collectively. And the younger and older creatives, alike, are helping to form a new heart, body, mind, and soul, collective experience.

More can be found on this topic in my past post: The Intrinsic Value of Creativity and Art: Cultivating Your Inner Artist

If you are on the brink of bringing forth your creative passions, I highly encourage you to keep firmly committed to that path, as it will reward you tenfold, not to mention will have far-greater impact than you can possibly try to foresee right now. Even if it’s not about creating a career out of your passion, your creative life force energy is so important to cultivate in terms of just shifting your entire vibration more into the abundant authenticity of you. And this will, by default, be an example to others to mirror that natural flow you embrace.

I want to thank my visionary musician friend, George, for sharing the passage below with me. Although it speaks about singers and musicians, I would say it is talking about ALL visionary creatives creating through ALL of the mediums and formats available – be that word, image, form, sound, movement, and any sensory and extra-sensory expression.

And if you are currently a creative artist or healing arts visionary, replace your modality in the following passage, but do not allow yourself to be replaced, as there is no other like you and YOUR creative expression is much needed in the world. YOU are much needed in this world. And in our unique, creative self-expressions, TOGETHER, we create beautiful music that holds the key to shifting paradigms.

You have a song to sing. It is why you are here. Don’t let someone or something silence your beauty, as your beauty will help inspire another’s.

Feeding Your Soul With Inner Peace

e9

Today, day two in the 21-Day Mantra Meditation Journey with Deva Premal and Miten, the focus was on “Inner Peace” – Om Shanti Om. (you can still sign up at the link to join in)

It’s about feeding the soul with that state of harmony that can carry you through anything – even in the midst of chaos you remain calm, centered, balanced, and at peace.

There are many ways you might also create this peace within, with different things that feed your soul, but carrying this Mantra is definitely one powerful way you can instantly reprogram things from the inside out.

What ways do you feed your soul? Make it a priority to nourish and cultivate inner peace in the way you resonate with. Even if it is just for five minutes a day, it will do you huge benefit. There is nothing that pressing in the world that can’t wait. Rushing anything won’t make things work any better, and might even create more challenge or make you miss out on better opportunities.

e14Some of the other things, besides Mantras, that feed my soul are the ocean, nature, my beautiful animal companions, and music.

The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace. ~Kate Chopin

Yesterday I had the opportunity to explore a new beach area with a dear friend I have known for maybe three years, but met in person for the first time. You me-and-cliffmay remember him – Cliff Durfee – from a past post I shared about his book, “Stories for the Inner Ear.” (I’ve been seeing themes around connections coming full circle lately, as we are lighting up and igniting energies through these meetings that trigger shifts in one another)

After a year or so of intending to get together, time aligned for yesterday and with it came Moonlight Beach, Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage and Meditation Gardens, and some vegan treats for lunch at Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar. I even had the chance to connect with Sweetie Bird, Cliff’s sweet little yellow parakeet, e6reminding me of my own little parakeets I used to have – one named Sweetie and one named Iris.

It was an extremely peace-filled day of stillness and being with the gentle nature surrounding the day and each other. I always see animals in each person I meet and Cliff reminded me of “tortoise energy” – it’s no wonder he loves these beings and has a tortoise collection. 🙂

It was a day of “Inner Peace” indeed and I continue to carry this through today, aided by the beautiful Mantra meditation gift of the journey.

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. ~Jacques Cousteau

e12I thought rather than share a lot today, as I’m not feeling tons of words, I would share some of yesterday’s beautiful vistas (the outer peace) from the Self Realization Fellowship Gardens and Moonlight Beach, as you enjoy this magical underwater video set to “So Much Magnificence” by Miten with Deva Premal (the inner peace) – creating wholeness within and without.

In Giving Outward Expression to Our Passions We Receive Our Fullness – A Recap of Creative Events This Week

laguna4bWow! It’s been such a whirlwind this last week and a half – one of potent and flowing creative life force energy from the passionate flame within.

It’s healthy to let it flow and how it wants to flow. It will sometimes come in large bursts or smaller daily ones, but always is enduring and awaiting us to unleash it.

The Universe IS creative energy and love. And since we ARE the Universe, so too are we always constantly cycling this energy through. We just seem to stop it now and then from doing what it is in its nature to do, and that is when we have challenges come up or it erupts seemingly out of no where.

Staying present and honoring the energy that IS, will always provide optimal results. And balance is key.

Some times I balance things within the same day in terms of the energy in and out (taking breaks recharging in nature or relaxing as I watch a good movie), and sometimes the way things go, the balance comes after a few days of outward flow, with receiving for a while directly after.

lagunaSince there is no time, and everything is just energy, it’s all about tapping into what the energy is presently wanting to do, realizing that when the energy has run its course, you’ll know what to do next because you are so in tune and listening.

Either way, I go with what feels natural to the energy, not what my mind says, and go where the energy is without forcing something. I have found that sometimes we can even force things that would “seem” really good for us in terms of “thinking” it out, but in reality, if we are in a flow that is natural, then it isn’t good to stop that flow mid-way to live up to some ideal.

bhakti12This was apparent this last week and a half for me while in creation mode. The first few days I was guided to spend time at sunset on the beach receiving, after my output. Then I had a few days of just output. After which, I then was receiving energetically from people I was coming in contact with in terms of what they were giving back in their experience of my work at the two creative arts events that took place Thursday and Saturday – Art Affair at Laguna Woods Village and A Night of Creative Compassion in Pasadena.

And of course, as I channel who I am naturally, that is a gift I am giving and receiving to myself as well. 🙂

bhakti2In between, I also gifted myself an entire full day off at Bhakti Fest, totally receiving so much good soul and heart nurturing of breath work, good food, new and old friends, light activation, shopping, drinking in the desert and community energy, and spiritual bliss from the soul enriching sacred mantras and music from Deva Premal, Miten, and Manose.

bhakti15It was interesting that it was the hottest it’s been all summer during this time period and for these events – so mirroring of the creative flame of energy. This added to the intensity of creation energy and so with the full cycle coming to close, I find myself now in full receiving mode to soak up some deserved stillness, which is where my energy is at in terms of its cycle. Having naturally expended my creative output, in rich fullness, it is now time to nurture and let things percolate, as a result of these experiences.

It’s all about a delicate balance and being ever-present with how the “natural” energy is channeling, which will go in different cycles, just as Nature does.

creative-compassion2bI know that the energy will always guide me in how to utilize it next, but for now I am allowing all of the experiences to integrate and enjoying the fullness of what it all is.

Living as a passionate being is who I am and truly is the heart of all of us. It’s our authentic innateness to express creative energy and love – the power of All That Is.

What is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person. ~John Boorman

“What we don’t realize is that passion is the muse of authenticity. It’s the primordial, pulsating energy that infuses all of life, the numinous presence made known with every beat of our hearts. Passion does not reveal herself only in clandestine, romantic, bodice-ripping cliches. Passion’s nature is also cloaked in the deep, subtle, quiet, and committed: nursing a baby, planting a rose garden, preparing a special meal, caring for a loved one who is ill, remembering a friend’s birthday, persevering in a dream. Every day offers us another opportunity to live passionate lives rather than passive ones, if we will bear witness to passion’s immutable presence in the prosaic. If we will stop denying ourselves pleasure. If, as James Joyce’s heroine Molly Bloom whispered, we can only learn to say ” … and yes I said yes I will Yes.”

Passion is holy – a profound Mystery that transcends and tranforms through rapture. We need to accept that a sacred fire burns within, whether we’re comfortable with this truth or not. Passion is part of Real Life’s package because we were created by Love, for Love, to Love. If we do not give outward expression to our passions, we will experience self-immolation – the spontaneous combustion of our souls.”

~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

cc8Each event, the last few days, has been uniquely rich and it is the personal relating and connections that mean the most to me. I have met some amazing souls and we have exchanged beautiful moments of mutual honoring and sharing. I have always enjoyed sharing my art work in person, as I feel it really is an “experience”. I find that just sharing the paintings with people is what shifts experiences for others on energetic levels. If someone chooses to take a piece home, they will continue to work with that energy and, as with crystals, they become the keepers of these energetic portals. And for the people who simply see it and spend time receiving in person, they receive just the perfect amount of what they need.

cc10I love to observe and experience my art through the eyes of others and am so grateful to be able to share in this way that is one of my passions. It means so much to me to listen to how a piece has moved someone, as when I am creating, I am in the vortex of creation and don’t know the totality of what is being created until I see it at work with others.

To me, this is priceless. And so, since I don’t do art shows and exhibits that often, only choosing to do ones that are for causes close to my heart, it truly is a gift when I do, as it reminds me of the full circle of why it is so important to follow our passions and support creative energy. It is bigger than us and yet we are integral to that.

Most of the time, exhibits and shows are about allowing that in-person experience to take place, and not really about if anyone takes something home. It is also a chance for the circle of energetic exchange to take place, even if that is through appreciation for my art, as it is just as important to receive as it is to give.

creative-compassion1And that is why I also love to donate pieces, like at last night’s event. Not only did I get to help raise money in support of the animals at Farm Sanctuary and see people who really loved certain pieces of my work get to take them home rather than have them sit in storage, but in the process I also had the opportunity to allow the door to receiving, open, and to welcome the appreciation, knowing the circle is complete.

I am grateful for all the beautiful experiences the last few days with all of the beautiful souls, for seeing the Source of channeled expression through the eyes of others beholding my creations, for the gifts I have received from the gifts of others, for all the devotion and labor of love people put into each event, for the opportunity to be a part of community and co-creation, and for this human embodiment that allows me to continuously immerse in passionate and sensual experiences of the Divine in manifestation.

I’ve included images of my experiences to share with you from the three events I enjoyed the last few days. Perhaps you can feel the high vibes through the photo journey. laguna2bhakti10cc3bhaktibhakti17bhakti25creative compassioncc5cc4cc9laguna5

In the Light of Love ~ Om Shree Dhanvantre Namaha

Another beautiful Mantra and message to fill your heart and soul with from Deva Premal and Miten with Manose. Video filmed here in Malibu, California. Something magical about the Pacific Ocean and paired with the musical inspirations from these beautiful souls – pure love.

Given the messages I’m receiving, this feels Divinely supportive to share.

In the light of love we are whole. In the light of love we are home. In the light of love we heal and sing. Thy will be done In the light of love. ~ Om Shree Dhanvantre Namaha

om2Back by popular demand, Deva Premal and Miten are offering their 21 Day Mantra Meditation journey once again. I posted it the first time, so that if you felt called you could join along, and I’m posting it again for another chance. They are celebrating their MantraFest tour of the USA & Canada this fall, and what a wonderful gift to share with us all.

Perhaps you might feel called to join one of their many concerts as they tour, which is an experience not to be missed, if you can. But if not, the 21-Day Mantra Meditation is a beautiful journey you will cherish.

It’s an opportunity to not only integrate things at a deep, core level, but to also join as one with thousands of others across the globe to create loving change and awareness. Last April over 64,000 people from 201 countries participated in their first online offering of this. And now, you too can join, whether you did or didn’t before, and immerse yourself in the beautiful and empowering energy you will be igniting for self and others, simultaneously.

The second 21-Day Mantra Meditation journey will begin September 10th and it is a three week experience that will bring you into the powerful world of mantras, as you explore a new mantra daily, come to understand their meaning and powerful energy they help to access, as well as enjoy a guided meditation into the chanting. The journey is also available for purchase, so you can have access to it any time. I find it to be a wonderful gift to self or others, and did get it myself.

This is an amazing opportunity for deep spiritual rebirth amidst any intensities you are experiencing or working through, as you break down, release, and build anew.

You can easily follow along in your own sacred space, giving yourself a gift of nurtured empowerment from the inside out.

Mantras are a Universal language that vibrationally resonate on a cellular level, having the power to effect our physicality as well as connect us to our Higher Consciousness.

Sound creates a unique reflective response on very deep levels. Sacred chanting of Universal Sanskrit Mantras creates powerful sound vibrations which are capable of transforming energy at all levels of creation.

Mantras have the ability to reach the subconscious level in order to shift things within our karmic stored patterns. Proper recitation helps invoke the latent power within us and can bless us in every facet of our life.

Blooming Celebration

flowersCelebration…that is the word of today and a valuable daily practice for our lives to be mindful and present with. Yes, every day we take another breath on our beautiful Earth is a day of celebration. Even when things feel challenging, discouraging, frustrating, tormenting, and futile, these are buried seeds awaiting discovery and cultivation into miracles.

I can’t help but live from the place of believing in all possibilities and knowing that all things are in Divine order regardless of how the trained mind would prefer to judge them otherwise. Yes, even when I’ve been in my darkest hours of experience, there is this connective knowingness and innate trust in a promise of a new beginning that never fails to wake me out of the spiraling slumber.

“You are full of unshaped dreams…You are laden with beginnings…There is hope in you… ~Lola Ridge

Yesterday ended the 21-Day Mantra Meditation Journey with Deva Premal and Miten with an added bonus 22nd day today to complete the journey on the note of “Celebration.” For those of you who joined the last 3 weeks of life celebration and honor of your wholeness and divinity, I hope you are feeling more empowered and realizing a little bit more each day how miraculous you are. I hope also that you will continue to incorporate your favorite mantras into your life, or create a mindfulness of sacred time and space daily in some small way.

“A mantra is something like a seed to be allowed to go deep into your being so that it can send its roots to the sources of your life and finally to the universal life. Then its branches, its foliage will go high into the sky, and when the right time comes, when the spring comes, it will be filled with thousands of flowers.”  ~Osho

We can always easily find reasons to fuel whatever feelings we are being attached to in the moment – sadness, anger, resentment, etc. But we can also always choose to find reasons to foster gratitude for the gifts that we are blind to when we are allowing our thoughts to stand in the way of their light.

There is no right or wrong in what we choose, but if you are finding yourself not feeling the way you would like, ask yourself if you’re truly willing to do what it takes to transform it into something more pleasing to you. It could be as simple as gently accepting the hand of your Higher Self and allowing it to guide the way instead of being triggered or tugged at by the hurts of your ego.

kumquat

Our abundant Kumquat tree

Every day I have a choice in how I would like to approach my experiences. And today is another day to water my inner garden…and then I can truly grow.

Right now so much is in bloom or in process of blooming in the yard (and in my life), including the Kumquat tree and Star Jasmine. I posted about the beautiful Star Jasmine that have begun to bloom in the yard just a few days ago, and since that post they have blossomed exponentially. It’s amazing what can evolve in just a few days – and sometimes over night. The same goes for us.

jasmine

Our blooming Jasmine at sunrise this morning

When we provide ourselves with all the supportive ingredients that feed the heart and soul, when we are mindful and present with our choices and openness, when we commit ourselves to cultivate an integrative experience of unconditional love, we nurture blossoming potentials that turn dreams into realities.

“Find ecstasy within yourself. It is not out there. It is in your innermost flowering. The one you are looking for is you.”  ~Osho

I was eating a succulent peach just yesterday and as it squirted in juicy bursts in my mouth and on my face, I literally came to embody the symbolism of experiencing the “nectar of life” as I felt it wash through me and over me. It profoundly reminded me of how each moment of life can be a choice of surrendering to my aliveness.

Ever wonder what your life would be like if you started living the wonder?

I have experienced the power of chanting Mantras and listening to and singing them while I paint and facilitate Reiki healing sessions. I chant them sometimes when I am hiking, as a walking meditation, and other times enjoy singing them while I drive on long road trips or any time I desire peace, stillness, and supporting shifts in my life. I keep a couple of Deva Premal’s CDs always in my car to pop in when ever I feel the need to be in that loving space. I even wear two Mantras as sacred tattoos on my Spiritual Skin.

At Sunday’s Earth Day event, upon conclusion of my guided healing meditation, we had the group chant OM together, which was very powerful. To almost everyone, the meditation and chanting was a new experience, but they all expressed their gratitude and felt it to be a blessing and very heart-opening. And for me, to see everyone leaving with peaceful and refreshed bright eyes and emanating smiles, was the true gift.

With the powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio there is an amazing opportunity right now for deep spiritual rebirth amidst this intense, breaking-down-to-build-anew, chrysalis phase before transformational awakening unfurls its wings in our lives.
