Peace of You

Peace of mind is not a goal I need achieve.
It’s a place inside I never want to leave.
Close my eyes, I still my thoughts and then I say
I will choose to live in peace today.

Peace In – Peace Out : Settling into the “peace” of me in Alaska

We can only help make our lives and our world more peaceful, when we ourselves feel peace. Peace already exists within each of us, if we only allow ourselves to feel its comfort. Peace of mind begins when we stop thinking about how far we have to go, or how hard the road has been, and just let ourselves feel peace. Peace of mind gives us the strength to keep trying and keep walking along the path that we KNOW is right for our lives.

Feeding Your Soul With Inner Peace

Today, day two in the 21-Day Mantra Meditation Journey with Deva Premal and Miten, the focus was on “Inner Peace” – Om Shanti Om. (you can still sign up at the link to join in)

It’s about feeding the soul with that state of harmony that can carry you through anything – even in the midst of chaos you remain calm, centered, balanced, and at peace.

There are many ways you might also create this peace within, with different things that feed your soul, but carrying this Mantra is definitely one powerful way you can instantly reprogram things from the inside out.

What ways do you feed your soul? Make it a priority to nourish and cultivate inner peace in the way you resonate with. Even if it is just for five minutes a day, it will do you huge benefit. There is nothing that pressing in the world that can’t wait. Rushing anything won’t make things work any better, and might even create more challenge or make you miss out on better opportunities.

e14Some of the other things, besides Mantras, that feed my soul are the ocean, nature, my beautiful animal companions, and music.

The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace. ~Kate Chopin

Yesterday I had the opportunity to explore a new beach area with a dear friend I have known for maybe three years, but met in person for the first time. You me-and-cliffmay remember him – Cliff Durfee – from a past post I shared about his book, “Stories for the Inner Ear.” (I’ve been seeing themes around connections coming full circle lately, as we are lighting up and igniting energies through these meetings that trigger shifts in one another)

After a year or so of intending to get together, time aligned for yesterday and with it came Moonlight Beach, Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage and Meditation Gardens, and some vegan treats for lunch at Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar. I even had the chance to connect with Sweetie Bird, Cliff’s sweet little yellow parakeet, e6reminding me of my own little parakeets I used to have – one named Sweetie and one named Iris.

It was an extremely peace-filled day of stillness and being with the gentle nature surrounding the day and each other. I always see animals in each person I meet and Cliff reminded me of “tortoise energy” – it’s no wonder he loves these beings and has a tortoise collection. 🙂

It was a day of “Inner Peace” indeed and I continue to carry this through today, aided by the beautiful Mantra meditation gift of the journey.

e12I thought rather than share a lot today, as I’m not feeling tons of words, I would share some of yesterday’s beautiful vistas (the outer peace) from the Self Realization Fellowship Gardens and Moonlight Beach, as you enjoy this magical underwater video set to “So Much Magnificence” by Miten with Deva Premal (the inner peace) – creating wholeness within and without.

Cultivate the Contemplative Garden of You

look within photo of tania marieIf peace is what you seek, this comes from cultivating inner harmony from a strong core and centered self, which will ultimately reduce stress and anxiety, as well as increase inner joy. It shifts your perspective on life and about anyone you experience along the journey, and ultimately affects the way you choose to either react or respond. It helps you be in the stillness of presence to draw from your core source and be conscious of the subtleties that nudge you to their attention.

Your garden within consists of your soul-self where your inner wisdom, peace and source of pure, limitless, unconditional love and compassion reside. It is here that you find all that is nurturing and supportive to guide you on your journey, abundantly equipped with the replenishment of all you will ever need.

It is pointless to search the whole world for the wonderful things you desire, as we all, at some point, discover there never being need to search – only the need for courage to look within to behold the treasure. If we find something or someone affecting our peace of mind and inner harmony, that is the moment we have stopped being in the power of our hearts and took a brief side-step from our core source into the ego dance, which can only sway from black to white – unable to be in that integrative gray.

meditating at the stargate in peruYour conscious and unconscious thoughts and emotions fuel the direction and quality of your daily life and inner harmony. It is invaluable to keep vigil to the fire in your heart. Cycles will come and go and darkness is not only something you can learn to navigate as an integral part of the presence of light, but is also never permanent. There is meaning and importance in the balance and natural harmony you have available at all moments simply by being the totality of you.

There is also importance in asking the questions that will provide opportunity to go deeper and expand the ways in which you realize your connection to the world and every experience around you. So when something throws you off and you find yourself over-stimulated in one way or another, or not standing solidly in your heart, these are the times to mirror the example of nature around us. See how nature is willing to soften, flow, rest, shift, blend, sprout, thaw, shed…to allow for new growth.

Life has an ebb and flow to it – embrace this knowing that everything is fleeting.

bali lotusYou are the gardener of your own life and what you choose to mindfully plant, nurture, and cultivate from the rich soil of your heart, will reflect the pattern of growth you choose and the experiences you have. The world is a mirror to your inner landscape, and vice versa, so when you open your awareness to all that is unfolding, you begin to understand how true alchemy works. Every part of the journey is important (no matter how small or unseen the internal shifts are) and they ARE worth your time and WILL grow into new blossoms that convey the contemplative cultivation you have given to them.

May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us. ~Saint Terese of Liseaux
