Over the last two nights it seems our late Winter started to take a turn, providing us a Winter Wonderland to explore and immerse in. The last two nights have also amped up magickal dream time and visits through the Forest Portal here. Seems completing Wonderland was the activation for it all. Wonderland inside and out! Interesting, too, that the snow came right after that as well. We’ve had dustings of snow 2-3 times since we moved in, but this is the most we’ve had so far and not just at the higher elevations. It’s a huge contrast to last year’s mega Winter – the biggest in like 40+ years, but any variety Nature wants to throw our way is a gift and gorgeous, nonetheless.
It made for beautiful hiking yesterday and will be fun to explore snow shoeing in up at the higher elevations.
Faery T was able to get her Snow Bunny on yesterday and this morning I thought it would be a perfect introduction for Astrid to see if she, too, is a Snow Bunny and if she likes snow as much as mom.
I’m happy to report that she does.
I’ve always said she reminds me of the Snowshoe Rabbits I fell in love with in Montana and Canada and felt that was in her spirit strongly.
There wasn’t a whole lot on the deck outside of my office because the morning sun hits there warmly first. But it seemed the perfect amount for her to get her feet “wet” before going big.
I took a video of her very first snow day experience, which was adorable to watch.
I’d gone out, barefoot (hence my foot prints alongside hers in the snow) to set up a protective pen barrier so she felt safe and didn’t wander off into the great outdoors. She’d probably be fine, since this area is fenced off, but she may not want to come back in. 😉 She exhibited her curiosity right away in finding the small hole I wasn’t diligent in closing off, sticking her nose through near the end, but luckily I caught that before it turned into Astrid gone wild.
It was fun because I told her what was happening before it did and she was very curious, listening with bright eyes and alert ears. She played coy for a while, exploring her house and licking her gnomes and mushroom next to the open sliding door I left that way for her to go out.
Then she went for it, cautiously, but courageously.
I love the little happy thump she gave at the threshold of the door.
I can tell there’ll be many more snow days for miss Astrid, as she seemed to really like it. I can’t wait for there to be a lot more snow so she can play in it and get in deep. I’ll be sure to capture those sweet memories and share.
Two Snow Bunny peas in a pod we are.
Here’s Astrid experiencing snow for the first time – at least this life!
We’re finally down to the wire with house renovation work, which means we’re beginning to find our new groove with what life will be like here without all the commotion and activity of contractors. We are basically done redecorating (I think we’re only waiting on one piece of furniture to arrive) besides minor touches I’m sure we’ll continue to fine-tune over time, only have a hand full of contractor days remaining (that will be spread throughout now and end of the month (so no more daily invasions), and are starting to get back to our longer hikes and Dave’s been getting out skiing.
One cool thing that completed this last week was our downstairs room we made into an exercise/meditation room, which we’ve never had before, but because the physical is equally as important, this is a good integration room. We feel it important to bring even more body and resonant/aligned types of exercise into our lives when we aren’t out in nature doing that, alongside the peace and stillness we’re bringing in. That’s a good way to ground, embody, and manifest too!
And speaking of exercise, we got out on some bigger hikes this week, which included hiking from our house to the lake for the first time. The full loop is about 4 and a half miles.
We are only a two mile hike away from Lake Tahoe and whether you go one way and back or take the loop, you’ll find yourself meandering through a variety of beauty to include, creeks, forest, meadows, rock outcrops, ponds, beach, and yes, the huge ocean-like lake.
We also discovered that in 18 minutes we can walk to our favorite Thai restaurant from our house or the Italian place next to it that has yummy vegan pizza. There’s also a hot pot place and a sushi place in the same complex – all with vegan options – so we can basically walk down for lunch if we want, not to mention can either walk or bike down to the beach in the summer to avoid the parking crowds. The same distance the other way also takes us to Safeway and all the shops there.
We’re constantly hit with surprises on why this house was so perfect for us and definitely creates a wellspring of things to be grateful for.
Alongside settling into life here and being able to focus more on other things besides the house, we’re gearing up for our first visitors in about a week and a half here.
However, in the meantime I’m finding it REALLY nice to be in the peace of my new shared office with Astrid and seeing my list of to-do’s dwindle completely away so that my time is freed for my book fully once again.
That’s a huge phew! as although I know getting the house anchored in was important, I have been hearing the call of my path saying, “it’s time!”
I will soon share photos of our new magick room where Astrid and I immerse in the good energies together and are master minding the new, but for now I thought I’d share some nature inspiration.
We are having a warm and late Winter so far, which means we’re still hiking and not snow shoeing yet, as we’ve only had 2-3 inches of snow dustings here about three times, even at 6600 elevation.
There’s more snow at the higher altitudes, but nothing close to last year’s record setting amounts, at all levels, and the overflowing creeks and rivers.
You definitely can’t predict anything anymore and it just makes you surrender into the beauty and surprise of the moment.
Like this beautiful, large grouse I noticed and who seemed to take note of us very deliberately.
Anyway, for my blog friends AND my mom who diligently follows along here as well, I thought I’d share some of Nature’s beauty recently from our getting back in the swing of things here. I post on Instagram, but know not everyone is on a social media platform.
One of the things I’m grateful for and cherish most about my family is that my parents have always cultivated and kept alive the essence of the “inner child” for us. This is likely why they remain eternally youthful, both in appearance and expression, as they continue to play, be silly, laugh A LOT, and have fun always. My brother and I have continued in this vein, never fully growing up and keeping our innocence in tact, despite all that we’ve gone through in challenges.
Yesterday my parents came up from Reno to visit and we got to share with them our Forest Portal backyard, which was fun. My mom and I were two little Faeries, arm-in-arm, walking together along the path the whole way and me helping my mom across the creeks.
We stopped in the meadow where the light was dancing magickally, lighting things in gold, to take some fun Faery photos.
We peeked out from the grasses with mischievous joy and then rolled in endless laughter when my mom’s foot kept sinking into this dirt pile and couldn’t get back up!
I wrapped my arms around her to pick her up and we were stuck there in giggles until tears, unable to move for a while. Dave caught these fun photos of us.
The rest of the photos are of our walk and captures on the path, including some of the beauty, and our home on our return back.
Here are some words I’ve shared in the past about the power of the inner child and innocence.
Many of us have forgotten about our own inner child, or have lost it along the way, and in doing so, do not remember the power of hope and believing. Nurturing the imagination is vital and contains the ingredients necessary for manifestion. Anything you can envision and feel, IS possible.
When we realize that we have the power to manifest miracles in our lives, I believe we will responsibly learn to co-create. Whatever we choose to believe, is what our reality is. But if we don’t even know how to believe anymore or how to hope and dream, or how to choose consciously, then we are missing out on what life could be.
Doing my part is simply and authentically about expressing who I am, as a cohesive thread in the collective consciousness, through the unique form that I have to share (as we each uniquely have an expression of gifts to share with the world). In embracing ourselves and allowing that which we have inside to flow to all, we can create much beauty.
I have always resonated with children and animals, understanding that they hold a key to healing on a deeper level. Their naturally loving, expressive, playful, connective, and instinctual natures are important ingredients to integration. We have lost our innocence and natural ability to feel and to trust in our knowingness, as a result of forgetting our essence and from being out of tune with our bodies’ natural rhythms. Children and animals love us regardless of what we look like or how we may behave. They know what it means to love unconditionally and that is all they hope of us – that we will love them unconditionally.
Children are powerful in their vulnerability. In their innocent self expression, they emanate an aura of invincibility. To be vulnerable is to be powerful. Vulnerability is a sense of trust and the willingness to express yourself freely and without inhibitions. As we grow older, we lose our innocence and vulnerability, in place of self control and judgment. In a sense, we lose our authentic power.
Recapturing our child-like exuberance, opens the flow of joy and the electric energy of life to surge through us. To go farther than you ever thought possible, daring to explore the depths of your imagination, is truly being alive.
Dare to have fun, explore, laugh, love, believe, and dream. The world is yours to create. What do you want your life to look, feel, sound, taste, and smell like? Indulge your senses with your imagination…..
The child within awaits your loving recognition and nurturing, which in turn will unlock the door to your authentic and magickal experiences that await you.
Inner child work has always been a powerful seed “key” to creating change. And when done with unconditionally loving courage, can be the impetus for empowering yourself in unlimited ways.
We all have a child within that is in need of our loving acceptance. No matter how strong and self-reliant you think you are, there is a time for tender vulnerability in everyone’s journey that is needed to cultivate a garden that your child-like heart can creatively and expansively blossom in. This will provide astounding results in your current experience and with all that you intend.
As adults we carry with us false beliefs from the past that as children we learned to believe. A lot of that includes the things that we were taught was “wrong” with us and so the greatest rejection living with us today is the one to, and of, ourselves with these beliefs.
Listening to and softening our inner dialogue to embrace the perfection of all that we are, is a needed part of our daily practice. It is important to know ourselves to be whole and forgive ourselves, as well as revel in the quirky beauty that our inner child has to share.
Loving your inner child will support healing the darkest experiences by shining light on the beauty that was always there. This opens doorways that the Universe will support you with when you are willing to partner with it.
Living here is such an incredible reminder of what is possible in terms of creating and manifesting reflections of my heart’s desires and having the peace I feel within, mirrored to me. When I first saw this house, despite knowing we would be doing a complete internal demolish and remodel, I knew the footprint, its energy, the layout, and the essence of the land here was meant for us. I always felt the end result and not the process and the Faeries kept reiterating this to me with signs, messages, and to continue to trust even when challenges arose. They told me to be patient and they would handle the details, which they did and have.
Although we’re still in remodeling mode, the major work is starting to wind down and we’re beginning to see the fruits of our labor come together.
This includes the magick of the forest land we sit on and our expansive forest backyard.
Yesterday our contractors left early so we had opportunity just before sunset to do a short hike out back. All of the photos you see here are of this trail we took from our home.
We have a whole grid work of hiking/biking trails right off our deck and yesterday we discovered a new one, which was this big loop that takes us through the forest, across a creek, along it, then through meadows, and back into the woods and along a second creek that then returns us home.
It was gorgeous and the light of the day had an aura of golden glow that just lit everything up with enchantment.
Soon this whole area will be covered in thick blankets of snow and we’ll be able to wander to our heart’s content on snow shoes. Dave intends to try out cross country skiing too, which will be perfect here as well.
To have this as our backyard is just incredible. I would say “pinch me,” but I know I’m not dreaming.
It’s taken me nearly 45 years of my life to get here, but it’s been worth the work and wait. Couldn’t have happened at a better time and goes again to show you that all things have their divine alignments, as now is when this all means the most to me and supports the next phase of life I’m entering.
Every day is a gift, each moment is an adventure unfolding, and every breath is an opportunity for expansion. It’s been an incredible journey with surprises around every corner and most recently, surprises discovered in our own backyard. We haven’t yet moved into our new magickal dream house, but we visit each day to manage remodeling, care for our new trees, and when time allows, explore a bit of our enchanted forest garden. I’d made promises to the Faeries to work with the energy here and in turn they opened the doors for this house to manifest and have sprinkled hidden treasures to uncover along the way.
I’ve already begun to plant some seeds of new in our front yard for the Faeries, which include five daffodil and five iris bulbs that were gifted to me by Faery sis Laura. If all goes well, they’ll be blooming once the snow thaws, bringing enchantment and color to the entrance of our home, lined along the large trees and Manzanita where I felt called to place them. As mentioned, an earth worm showed up while I was doing so, which felt like an affirmation of placement and gratitude.
We’ve been starting to work on a few changes to the area just outside my new office as well, and have been dream journeying with ideas for the yard there that will become a Magick Sanctuary that will at some point include a labyrinth and more. A work in progress for sure and can’t be started until Spring. For now we are focusing on the inside of the house, as truly the yard is a Nature’s work of art already.
We knew this was a magickal space, sitting on the National Forest with only one house to the right that isn’t on top of us, but also aren’t year-round neighbors, however we continue to discover just what the Faeries had in store for us with guiding us here, as we uncover more of their surprise gifts each day.
Today marks seven weeks since my foot fracture, and I’m no longer wearing my healing boot. I’m now able to wear regular supportive shoes and am moving around well. This has enabled me to start doing some easy hikes and walks, which include the beginning of explorations in our forest backyard.
We have an endless circuit of hiking trails out back that lead all over, including connecting to the Tahoe Rim Trail. I have only walked about a mile so far, but in doing so last week, discovered some treasures!
Not only did the Faeries leave raw quartz directly behind the house and along the trail….gorgeous pieces of pink quartz….but we discovered some very cool things about where the house sits, including having views of Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort.
We are exactly smack middle of two year-round flowing creeks, literally just a quarter of a mile in either direction (we clocked it) and about 3-4 minutes walk. What incredible energy that is having flowing water and the magick of these little Water Nymph areas perfect for this Pisces.
Here’s a short clip of one. The other has a bridge over it. This one has a log bridge over it.
Throughout the trail there are beautiful granite outcroppings of large stones that create sacred areas and energy as well. Some are large and others smaller. In some cases create rings or circles, and in other cases are just deliberately placed and have distinct shapes. I didn’t capture all of these in photos, but this is one of the larger areas.
And to our surprise we have very tiny peeks of Lake Tahoe. Not the full, expansive view of our tree house, but indeed open channels and portals connecting her energy with our home, both seen from the deck and back rooms of the house, and also wider openings along the trail just yards out.
This became extra apparent as we were there at sunset and I saw what appeared like two Suns setting. Then I realized the second was actually the Sun reflecting on the water and I could actually see the waves rippling on the surface of the Lake.
They don’t show up in the photos much, but give you a tiny idea. In person, it’s quite magickal.
I love the streaming of water and light through these little doorways, which creates this incredible portal of flowing energy tying in so many elements here that it’s almost beyond words to describe the feeling of. It just feels perfect, aligned, and definitely meant to be, plus creates a lot more mystery, magick, and mischief!
The dances of light that have been present the last few visits at our home have been revealing too and excite me as to all that will continue to reveal itself when we do in fact live here and what will take place and become possible in creating.
Oh what magick we will weave with secret visitors abound!
I love this video of the light in the yard and if you look closely near the railing you’ll see this magickal little white energy flying through the air and following my movement…then disappear.
Gratitude overflows and excitement builds. Yet patience is my constant partner for all that lies ahead and is unfolding step-by-step.
Life continues to be a journey of trust, loving commitment, and continued dreaming…
Yesterday was a beautiful celebration shared with Dawn and Miracle on our last day, for now, together on her Tahoe adventure. Astrid got to meet Dawn in person, deepening their connection, I got to share my home made butternut squash soup with Dawn for lunch overlooking the lake from our tree house, and we then went on two different forest hikes filled with Faery gifts, intentions ignited together, and light galore dancing with the trees and Nature all around us.
I was able to share our forest backyard with Dawn, which was delightful and had Miracle enjoying the water for her second time.
She loves to wade in if her mom does – so cute! And upon our hike we found incredible little golden, coral, and pink sparkly quartz just laced “randomly” in the forest left behind by the Faeries for us to find. I love finding them right behind our home, feeling like a trail of gratitude from them for the promises I’ve made in caring for and activating the land here.
Before leaving, we found a single dandelion on our lawn (the only one I’ve seen anywhere), which we decided was meant for making wishes together. So we sat intentfully with what we wanted to create and then blew away. Each time we blew – which was three – Miracle would turn around and add to the intents, facing the dandelion with us.
There was one single seed left after that and Miracle turned around and removed it with her nose. It clung there for a minute, as you can see below, so that not only Miracle could put intention toward her wishes, but completed the triad of our intentions. It was the sweetest thing!
We then went on another forest and meadow walk, which took us near the lake as well, finding giant hallucinogenic mushrooms, sweet blossoms that were still hanging around (some pink and purple ones), discovered more heart shaped stumps, and were drenched in light dancing with Nature and beaming activations through.
Giggles filled the day and love was abound.
Dawn and Miracle extended their stay, being led to soak in and work with the energies here through Monday, which truly makes me happy to know they are receiving the nurturing of this beautiful area and are deepening their bond and roots to a place I love, so that they will be a part of things here long after they depart.
Although we will be busy with Birthday celebrations for Dave and his visiting mom and step dad this weekend, Dawn and Miracle will be in heart and as always, it’s only a farewell for now since the connections in spirit are forever.
I’m so grateful for my Faery family and friends, as they truly make life giggly fun! I love being able to just relax, take in the magick, see the miracles, and laugh and enjoy life’s beauty. The friends I have that enjoy the same are truly cherished, as when I want to just play that’s all that is on my mind…not work, not being of service, but truly just living and loving all the way and living as an expression of simply being! Thank you Dawn and Miracle!
This morning’s gift….four deer just below our window spent the morning grazing. An older buck with full antlers, a younger one with little antlers growing, and two females. It was such beauty and grace to watch and such lovely medicine to experience and be messaged with. This same window was where a black bear gave us a show rolling in the snow this past winter. And the deck is where a hawk landed, facing in at me, and so many variety of large and small birds (including eagles) fly by and land, as well as squirrels and chipmunks come play. It’s truly wonderful to experience and I know will continue tenfold at our new home on the forest.
I’ve written before on deer symbolism, which includes so many lovely energies:
love, grace, gentleness, compassion, innocence, peace, beauty, fertility, femininity, humility, swiftness, acceptance, regrowth, renewal, creativity, spirituality, psychic power, subtlety, higher connection, awareness, abundance, benevolence, watchfulness, and is associated with the moon, the dawn, and the easterly directions.
The stag in particular symbolizes the same, but includes masculinity (which brings balance), regeneration, guidance, healing, connection to the Earth and forest, alertness, pride, independence, purification, strength, and nobility.
I thought I would share some of the photos I capture this morning, as I spent about a half hour or more just watching them.
I also found it a beautiful synchronicity, since my dear friend Dawn is visiting and she is very connected to deer medicine as well, having a couple of sacred tattoos of them she wears on her skin, and her blog is in fact called Deer Heart Reiki
We have continued to share some magickal times and sweet moments while she has been visiting. Today she’ll get to meet Astrid and we’ll take in a lovely forest hike before she heads off tomorrow morning, which will be sad, but also just a continuation of the journey and cycles we share.
Yesterday brought Dawn and I back together since our last visit in Sedona over the Libra Full Moon, which is quite synchronously aligned with her arriving on the Libra New Moon now in October! She’s staying in the same RV park with her Miracle Bus (love the name and connection to our Magick Bus) that we did when we first arrived back to Tahoe last October, and while here I will be able to share some of our fav spots with her, as we explore this synchronous time together. It’s incredible how much has happened in both of our lives during just 6 months since we last touched in with each other and in looking at our photos from then, too, we have each shifted tons as well. I’ve never seen her looking more sparkly, vibrant, and beautiful, not to mention really anchored into her nature ever more so than now.
It is our third time in person in the years we’ve known each other, but first time getting to meet her sweet companion, Miracle, whom I have been connected with since the day she came home to Dawn. Dawn and I have been through a lot of similarities with our animal companions we have seen transition and have both aligned with experiences relating to the new magickal girls that have both come into our lives just months apart. It’s been beautiful sharing our families together and I’m grateful for all of the support and love she’s given during those transitioning times, but also for all of the giggly fun and understanding too.
Yesterday was our first touch-in, as the first few days were days of rebalance and recharge after her long journey here, while I have been immersed in all we have going on during these transitional times. That is also when huge winds of change blew in, as well as an enchanting day of snow to welcome her back to Tahoe. I was so excited for her to experience all this magick and felt Tahoe to be a perfect and nurturing place right now for her. This was her first time back to the area since somewhere between 30-35 years ago, so it’s pretty incredible to have her here now.
And this also aligned with our 9 year anniversary yesterday, which really was full circle and lovely to share with her and Miracle.
She shared the sweetest little gifts with me too – one of which had another full circle connection. It is this incredible little succulent called a Crassula Buddha’s Temple. I’ve never seen one like it and I fell in love right away. Dawn knows how much I love succulents and this one has a special connection, as it is from a nursery where she grew up and where she and her parents used to spend tons of time at when landscaping their home. It’s been there 98 years and she said it still looked so much the same.
I love the connection to her childhood through this sweet and sacred succulent, which will always remind me of the inner child and innocence she and I cherish and have no intentions of ever losing.
The other amazingly yummy gift was an organic artisan jam made of cardamon, pear, and rose petal. It is exquisite (I had it on a toasted bagel this morning) and reminded it me of this incredible lavender “honey” (a vegan version, of course) that Faery sis Laura made for me. And that’s super cool because it is because of Laura that Dawn and I connected (our shared Reiki Master Teacher) and we were even able to share some virtual hugs and kisses between all three of us yesterday on our day of meeting. More full circles!
Anyway, our first day together was perfect…and since the snow, the weather is incredible in the high 60’s in the day and cooling to 30’s at night. No winds and warm sun-shiney days filled with Autumn smells, sights, and colors for all the senses.
It was my first day back driving, as I went to pick her up wearing a regular boot on my foot for the first time since my fracture. I’m still being cautious when out doing any kind of hiking or long walks (wearing my healing boot), although I don’t anymore in the house and am basically healed. I just want to ensure a solid strength to it and allow another 2 weeks of babying it so that I’ll be good to go for Winter snow upcoming.
On my way to pick her up a big hawk flew over my car and that was a great sign since hawks are huge for both Dawn and I and have shown up at synchronous times between us. I then got to meet Miracle and the RV/bus that is named after her, which was delightful, as she is just as sweet as her mom and the Miracle Bus so reminded me of our Magick Bus and our times in it (not to mention my sweet Joy and Cosmo who shared the journey with us).
Dawn and Miracle are both loves and I was tickled by Miracle’s kisses and affection, as well as her gentleness. But she is a force for sure and carries both energies just like her mom.
We then went over to Zephyr Cove and walked along the lake and enjoyed the beauty and warmth, as we caught up and just took in the day. I decided I wanted to capture her and Miracle, as I knew they didn’t really have any photos together and the beauty of Tahoe was truly bringing out their essence. So an impromptu photo shoot continued for the day, each time I saw these incredible back drops and the way the energy was dancing with them. I LOVE the captures that resulted…My favorites of them so far!
We ended up seeing a rabbit on the trail – I hardly ever see wild rabbits here, so that was a cool sign of the little ones off planet excited for this reunion (Dawn has met both Joy and Cosmo and knows of Nestor well). Cosmo has been around even more than usual, which Dawn has been feeling too so this felt connected to him for sure.
We also continued through the day seeing so many squirrels, chipmunks, and ducks that Miracle was enthralled with.
After, we headed to go pick up Dave, but stopped at our new home so I could share it with her and Miracle. That was really special for her to be a part of the celebration of new there and to have her share her feelings of it, while seeing it in the before stage. Such a blessing to have their energy infused into our new home.
Then we got Dave and set off for Taylor Creek to see the salmon.
We got there just after sunset and walked the Rainbow Trail, which was mystical and mysterious, reminding us of Sleepy Hollow or something out of the Lord of the Rings.
I was so happy she got to see the salmon, as that felt like great energy at this time. And while there, more ducks glided across the creek, geese honked away as they flew by, and a heron that didn’t want us to miss it, kept doing fly by’s and landed in a tree across from us. He also saw us back to our car, as we finished gazing at the moon. The second photo below captures the heron flying across the other side of the creek before it came to land in a high branch of a tree.
So much great energy and medicine.
There was even a picture-perfect sight of the sliver of moon just over Mt. Tallac that I was able to capture. It’s above Dawn and Miracle in this first photo, but didn’t show up with the lighting until I took it again with just the landscape (seen in the second photo).
So magickal and full of yes, “miracles”.
We then headed to this newer restaurant, Aleworx in South Lake Tahoe for vegan pizza and to catch the end of the Autumn Carnival. It was perfect because a quieter, side table opened just for us and we arrived just in time to watch the fire dancers. That seemed like great energy to balance things out, especially with a lot of Water energy that had been around for Dawn and with lots of Earthing and Air energy also having been experienced in the days, and today, leading up to this.
A perfect full day of blessings all around.
So grateful for this time that has aligned to be with Dawn and Miracle and I look forward to more over the next few days while she’s here soaking in the Tahoe vibes, as well as her meeting Astrid for the first time in person (although they are connected already just as I’ve been with Miracle).
Lake Tahoe looks good on both of them!! Love seeing them glow and love having some Faery fun in the midst of all the managing, remodeling, hands-on labor I’ve been doing at the condo, foot healing, and editing here and there while I can. It truly helps bring balance to life, which is what Libra energy is all about.
Thank you Dawn and Miracle for bringing your joy and love to Tahoe and helping to create extra nourishing and balancing nature immersions in the mix! It’s so much fun to giggle away with you both while also walking in honor of the sacredness around us.
I look forward to the adventures of the week and what reflections will be revealed along the way.
I remember how last year at this exact time, when we first arrived back in Tahoe with the Magick Bus, we spent a lot of days at Fallen Leaf Lake taking in the Fall colors. Synchronously, this last Friday the 13th marked two years since we’d officially moved into the Magick Bus in 2015 on a New Moon. A beautiful full circle celebration and truly the life choice that changed everything for us, and especially for me. Today marks five weeks to the day already in my foot’s healing process and it’s doing very well with all the nurturing I’ve given it. Yesterday I was itching to get out more and so we did about a 3+ mile, relatively easy hike with my boot along Fallen Leaf Lake because the Autumn colors were calling me again. It felt so good to be out in nature with all the smells and sights.
SO much has changed since we put into motion our Magick Bus plan and made that leap with complete trust, detachment of results, and non-judgment of the process. It feels like lifetimes ago and also holds lifetimes within those two years of major movement of energy and manifestation that we experienced – even more than what I express here.
As I shared on Facebook, everything these days seems to point to an elevated need for patience, presence, process, and peace – the four p’s!
And when a dear friend asked about what I referred to in terms of the “process” part, I shared:
Processing what comes up and always being aware that everything involves a process… Just like life is a journey, but there are steps and stages to go through. Each of those steps being integral and important. We often get caught up in the result and want to know the outcome but you won’t until you go through the process, as each step can shift things and open to something completely different, but potentially better. That goes back to patience and presence. Patience with what you’re wanting to see in the world or create in your life. Presence with what’s before you now revealing insights and gifts to get you to the next step. And peace within along the way to anchor yourself and keep balanced.
Nature reflects and guides us on this life cycle so beautifully.
Not only has our journey the last two years been about all of this incredibly, including finding ourselves back here after a nine year cycle of where we began, but currently with our home remodeling and my book editing, I/we’re fully needing to live this day in and day out – not just simply as a thought we read for the moment and agree with, but as an actualized experience we embody.
I hope you enjoy these photo captures from yesterday’s hike and that you can receive the wisdom Nature has to share.
I LOVE the light encircling everything, bringing that full circle experience into visible acknowledgment.
Well, bear magick and medicine was at it again. Just two days ago, four beautiful black bear showed up on my path, along with the abundant Kokanee salmon, during what was a short, but ever potent and rich experience. The last time bear had visited was near the end of Winter, when they were coming out of hibernation a bit early and now to see them preparing and fattening up for Winter, is definitely another full circle experience. Not to mention the timing for me/us that is also full circle, marking the ending and beginning of things. Paired together with the symbolism of salmon, I’m feeling the depth of these animal spirit guides’ reflections anchoring alongside the mirroring journey of my life.
It was a gorgeous late afternoon where we’d planned to meet up with our friends Bean and Happy at Taylor Creek, before heading to a dual purpose dinner party (welcoming our friends/guests Paul Shapiro, vice president of policy for The Humane Society of the United States and his girlfriend Toni Okamoto, founder of Plant Based on a Budget and author of The Super Easy Vegan Slow Cooker Cookbook to town and a going away party for Bean and Happy – boo!), so they could see the salmon before leaving Tahoe yesterday morning on their next adventure. It ended up being the perfect send-off for them, as well as the perfect celebration for us.
Our friends had arrived their well before us and were checking out all of the salmon, after doing the short Rainbow Trail there. Dave and I arrived about a 30-45 minutes after them and made our way down the trail too – my second short Nature walk in the last few days without crutches since having my boot, as the previous day my parents had visited to take me to lunch, followed by a walk along Zephyr Cove.
Everyone that passed me along the trail kept saying, “oh you’re so brave and hard-core,” to which I would just giggle not thinking I was doing anything extraordinary except getting out in nature, which seems natural to me!
I got lucky that because my boot slows me down, I came into the clearing just as mom and two cubs had also just arrived. Dave had gone ahead to find our friends and unfortunately missed them. I had just enough time to watch them stand up and look at me, then scurry off behind mom in the trees.
If you look closely in this photo you will see the two cubs at middle, center looking at me from the other side of the creek’s bank.
And here’s mom and mom and a cub to the left in the trees.
I was then joined by Bean, who so sweetly had come after me to see how I was getting along in case I needed help, but sadly the mom and cubs were gone, so we moved on ahead and joined Dave and Happy, checking out the salmon. As we continued further a solo black bear appeared and we spent quite some time watching him fish for salmon.
I was so happy another one showed up, as I had hoped Bean and Happy would get to see a bear before they left, and so they did! Perfect! And wonderful energy with it all for them, as they are branching out into new directions to explore.
All of this took place only several yards away, as we watched from the bridges and platforms, which made it even more special to view them so close in their natural setting.
This guy turned to me and asked, “can you run?” as he looked at my boot. I said, “no.” He replied, “then we’re safe” and laughed. LOL!
Well, I never felt threatened anyway, but did get a giggle out of that. Of course Happy turned to me and said, “I wouldn’t leave you behind if that happened.” Aw!!
Anyway, they were beautiful cinnamon coated bears and truly magnificent to watch. But so were the salmon. Just tons of them, as well as large crawfish, beautiful ducks, and gorgeous Autumn landscapes and lighting that truly made everything magickal.
These are some photos that Bean took with her better camera of the stunning salmon.
I marveled at the symbolism of it all and how perfectly reflective it was for me, once again.
Salmon symbolize returning home to regenerate, overcoming obstacles, end of a cycle and a new start, drive despite challenges to return to their origins (home), creativity, growth, maturity, abundance, enthusiasm, remaining in harmony with Nature’s rhythms rather than fighting them (flowing with the currents beneath the surface), not being deterred by seeming impossible odds, having a strong drive to reproduce in order to feel peace (however this is not just about children, but about anything creative – this runs the gamut from artful masterpieces to the next great novel, one source says), having very strong desires/passions and ability to tirelessly manifest them, enjoying life and sharing those richness with others (Native Americans see them as symbols of wealth, abundance, and providence), and remaining innocent, childlike, light-hearted, and open always. Salmon have shown up now a few times since our Magick Bus RV adventure, which has been a beautiful reflection each time and timely now once again.
Bears symbolize fearless ancient medicine, empowered Sacred Feminine energy and that Divine Mother embodiment, strength, transformative energy, and courage we have within to call upon in order to take action without fear, while remaining grounded and in rhythm with Earth and Nature’s cycles. They remind us of observing ourselves in every moment and self-reflecting, knowing the timing on things and aligning with the “when” and “where” to unfold divinely, teaching us laws of respect and boundaries and strengthening and voicing our own, as well as honoring those around us, and reflecting natural leader abilities within that invite relaxing into and bringing forth in innocent, creatively passionate ways that share the vitality of our own unique self-expression. Bears have been very potent for me also since the Magick Bus, and become near and dear. The last time they showed up, as mentioned, was linked with coming out of hibernation for me with creative rebirthing, which was exactly what happened on every level of my life and what Dave and I have been creating this year, as well as what I have (especially with my book). However, now I’m seeing the bears in this heightened state of nourishing and fattening up for the Winter, which feels perfect to both my book and personal life situations being nurtured, where there will be a turning within to the home and finalizing my book with editing and preparations to take it to the next step during Autumn and Winter.
This brings me to my exciting news that reflects all of this.
Yesterday was a big day for us, as we became the official, very happy owners of our new dream home! All culminating the morning after our bear and salmon encounters on a gorgeous day, as you can see here of a quick snap I took on our drive through Gardnerville to handle business. A morning that included five geese, a hawk, and sweet jackalopes (bunny reindeer) that were reflecting the support at every uncanny turn.
I’ll just share briefly that we’ve spent the last year here in Tahoe really deepening into our desires and dreams, working on building foundations and roots to support all of that, and listening to guidance on everything, which included lots of personal projects we accomplished in rapid speed, and big decisions around anchoring versus a plethora of other ideas that hugely shifted trajectories and timelines.
The expansive, nurturing, and inspiring space we’ve been living in, really helped solidify and clarify everything for us, and with our lives taking big turns, so too did we.
With both our little family growing (to include the magickal Astrid now alongside our kitty babies, Boojum and Sweet Pea), and the dreams we’ve had feeling the need to blossom and not wait anymore on, as well as being met with everything we explored and discovered here about ourselves that Lake Tahoe has, and more so now reflects for us, we felt a new and mirroring home space was calling that would nurture and nourish all of this.
And through countless magickal and synchronous unfoldings (way too much to share), everything aligned us with the perfect home base for all of this.
Our lake view condo will be taken over by a blossoming and amazing, young couple here shortly, as we prepare for our move to our new home on USFS land (United States Forest Service), where we will officially live in the enchanted forest full of Faeries and animals galore! Much magick awaits and will be created, as so many plans are in the works for this space.
To say I’m excited is an understatement, and although we have a very busy 4 months or so ahead of us before we’re fully settled, it is all SO worth it. A dream come true and perfect timing and unfolding in every way.
So yes, I’m feeling that “return to home to regenerate” and ultimately to my origins (both as a Cosmic AND Earth being, but also to Tahoe where everything started for us and where I received message to be long ago – and followed – without ever having been here or knowing what it was like), as well as an ending and beginning that salmon medicine brings, not to mention a definite surge in creativity, growth, harmony, and maturity in our lives all coming from creating things that would seem impossible (something that will continue being a theme for sure). For everything coming, I definitely feel that a strong foundation now is necessary. Whereas before, the need to move energy literally had to take hold in full embodiment of everything in our lives to create the huge momentum and leaps needed. Now things can settle in one regard, as the tree and its roots that will be the supportive foundation for all of the branches I/we will be growing.
And definitely, we’ve/I’ve been listening to those inner rhythms in flow with Nature, to align with everything and knowing just when to make moves and wait patiently, and are setting up our creative cocoons and hibernation caves (home) with everything nurturing and nourishing to our souls so we can continue in the cycle of rebirthing and recreating over and over with all that is in motion in our creative lives, like bear so beautifully shares with her medicine. Those two cubs that stood up and looked right at me, felt so reflective of my deep childlike innocence really coming forth now more than ever, and the playful vitality I feel to create, simply because it is peace for me to do so.
And speaking of childlike innocence, yesterday evening I showed up at an event sporting my bunny dress and magickal crowned rabbit necklace to represent the rabbits I love and adore.
Last night we had the opportunity to attend the sold out TedX event in South Lake Tahoe at Lake Tahoe Community College. Last year’s sold out inaugural event of 100, more than doubled to 250 this year with an incredible lineup of locally-known and world-renowned speakers from here and around the country. The event had food and drinks available during the reception and intermission including vegan wraps! and an after party at The Loft.
Our friend Paul Shapiro (mentioned above) was one of them who took the stage discussing the revolutionary “Clean Meat” – also the inspired topic of his forthcoming book.
There were many amazing speakers sharing their insights – all leaders in their own fields. You can check out the visionaries here:
My favorite speaker was photographer, director and Zephyr Cove resident Dewitt Jones who has photographed stories around the world for 20 years with National Geographic, published nine books, and directed two Academy Award-nominated documentaries. He moved me to tears, being a man of my own heart, with his talk that got him the only standing ovation. He so beautifully expressed the perspective of my own life and I felt the deep love in that reflection and mirroring, once again experiencing that full circle and collective connection.
Dewitt’s talk explored a mindset that he learned while working for National Geographic, and being out in nature, of celebrating what’s right with the world and not just focusing on what’s wrong with life, although not denying or ignoring any aspect of it, but rather seeing from a different perspective and the wholeness inherent in it all.
I was compelled to thank him after and he gifted me one of his bracelets.
It’s that message I want to leave you with, which is one of the foundations of my own life.
Celebrate What’s Right With the World and your life will be enriched.
