With the Equinox and Libra New Moon energies abound, heralding potential big energy shifts that will reveal to us a beauty, creative potential, and inspiration through transmutation we have yet to know and experience, these magickal images felt reflective of that energy.

If you have never seen a peacock in flight, I think you’ll agree from the images that these ethereal birds are truly reminiscent of mythical creatures when they spread their wings and fly.

From elegant, Earthly being, majestically and gracefully reigning over the gardens of life, they transform into an other-worldly, Phoenix-like creature soaring magickally through the limitless sky of opportunities.

Peacocks symbolize many things including integrity, the beauty we can achieve through showing our authentic colors, guidance, protection, holiness, nobility, vibrancy, help on your spiritual path, breath of new life into your experience, rejuvenating self-esteem, expansion of your creativity and imagination, and courage to show up as your unique self.

They also symbolize glory, vision, watchfulness, royalty, spirituality, awakening, immortality, refinement, beauty, desire, enjoying life, generosity, longevity, compassion, sensuality, immortality, and expansiveness.

In Buddhism the peacock symbolizes expansive consciousness and is representative of the all-compassionate goddess Kuan Yin.

Being a solar animal peacocks express the essence of vitality, radiance, glory, stimulation, life, health, and invigoration.

Alchemical traditions compare the resurrecting Phoenix to our modern-day Peacock, bestowing the symbolism of renewal upon it.

Lady of Grace, Compassion & Expansive Renewal – Sacred Tattoo Design Blossoms Into Creation

Lady of Grace Compassion & Healing Sacred Tattoo DesignI’ve had such a beautiful journey with this latest sacred tattoo design. I can’t express the beautiful flow that was experienced, but perhaps you will feel it and more by sitting with the reflection of its energy.

Once again, the timing was so divine with this piece in so many ways and beautifully came to closure the even before I was teaching a Reiki 1 & 2 Accelerated Workshop this past Friday. Each design is always infused with Reiki, but this one was definitely part of the initiating energy, which is perfect for the celebration of renewal and expansion it reflects for my beautiful client.

As I expressed to her, I truly felt it to be a dance of energy that felt liberating and expansive with so much potential. And since the designs are a shared experience, it was a really special journey for me to receive these blessings as well. With each of these, I feel that I too get to share in the shifts and blossoming that are taking place so it is like the blessing of Reiki, where each person gets to give and receive within the exchange shared.

Here are some of the expressions I shared with my client on what evolved through her design:

The design (which will grace her back, extending from upper left and flowing down and touching her right lower back and hip/waist) is a blend of organic with stylized/henna woven in. I felt that something both ethereal and extremely graceful and flowing – almost like a feather (which is sort of how I see the bigger picture of this design – not just having feathers in it, but like one giant feather that has come to tenderly kiss the skin of my client’s back, as it floats there. The organic comes in mixing some aspects of realism with the woman’s face and hand holding out the lotus, as well as the head of the peacock and a few of its feathers that are emerging from the ethereal quality of the others. So it’s almost like that bridge between Earth and Cosmos and that integration of divinity embodied within the human body temple.

I created sort of a Mandala design around the woman’s head and peacock’s head of stylized lotus and feathery aspects (doubling also as her hair cascading and crowning her with feathers and lotus), which also create that expansion of consciousness and emanation of the Crown Chakra energy blossoming. And the woman and peacock are resting into, and cradling each other in beautiful union – both looking up with confidence, clarity of vision, and serenity of being.

The woman is my client and an aspect of her in her wholeness she is stepping into, which is evident in the design cocooning around her, but simultaneously blossoming around, as she emerges from this dance of life, newness, opening, and partnering with the parts of self within – represented in the design, including the peacock.

After creating the design, I saw this aspect of the woman to be like that of Kuan Yin – Goddess of healing and compassion-  and how she is often depicted with/as peacock.

I didn’t actually set out with Kuan Yin in mind at all. The woman that came through I saw as an aspect of my client/and her soul/higher self in wholeness – the Goddess within. Perhaps I was seeing her in another life, but when I placed the image next to a photo my client had sent me of herself, there was indeed a soul essence signature resemblance that was remarkably there in what had channeled through. It was later, as always I find these surprises, and that I realized the connection of Kuan Yin and the peacock, not to mention qualities and aspects that my client was personally intending to create. So that is how these images are so multi-layered and at each turn there is something new and different to discover depending on the energetic perspective of the moment.

The peacock represents a symbol of integrity, the beauty we can achieve through showing our authentic, true colors, guidance, protection, holiness, nobility, vibrancy, helps you on your spiritual path, breathes new life into your experience, rejuvenates self-esteem, expands your creativity and imagination, and speaks to your courage to show up as your unique self. It also symbolizes glory, vision, watchfulness, royalty, spirituality, awakening, immortality, refinement, beauty, desire, enjoying life, generosity, longevity, compassion, sensuality, immortality, and expansiveness. In Buddhism the peacock symbolizes expansive consciousness and is representative of the all-compassionate goddess Kuan Yin. The eyes of the peacock feathers symbolizing the omniscient essence of the soul that is all-seeing and all-knowing. As a royal status, peacocks represent the realm of the Empress and High Priestess. Being a solar animal peacocks express the essence of vitality, radiance, glory, stimulation, life, health, and invigoration.

I had this vision of the twin soul aspect within, merging into wholeness and that is this beautiful love affair depicted between the woman and peacock and how they merge into, and from, One.

Within the feathery design of the peacock’s brilliance there are spirals of life, lotus stars, and some stylized waves to symbolize water cascading down from the combined Moon and lotus symbol at left. The lotus I found, after I created it with the Moon there, to double as the Sun (like a lotus Sun star), which then again is integrating those aspects of duality as One.

There are many layers to the design (along with symbolic meanings), which are the many layers and roads of the journey and the complexity of what makes each person unique. Rather than have everything very solid, I created “space” between a lot of the design to allow for movement, flow, flexibility, change, and lightness (also that time between time and void space of creation) – this all creating more femininity and an ethereal quality to it, while also having those touches of the actualized portions peeking through (like the realistic peacock feathers, her face and hand, and peacock head) for grounding and manifesting stability.

It is a blend of being able to use alchemy to walk between worlds and create anything the imagination desires.

The design has the essence of abundance as well…like a garden blossoming. And her hand coming through the ethereal feathers, again is like that birthing anew and bringing forth a new creation from the womb of her renewal, which is represented by the lotus blossom she gentle cradles and offers to the world, as if to say,

“Here is what I am and have to offer from my heart in service.”

There is also the symbolism of growth, shamanism/shapeshifting, abundance, courage, strength to shine and bring forth that vulnerability of heart from the depths, spiritual groundedness, willingness to always be open and to evolve, and a bit of the mystical and mystery that creation has in the way it can reinvent itself at will and doesn’t reveal everything at once, but rather is always in a “process”. This beautiful process is what is captured, demonstrating that each step of the journey is perfect and whole.

The image appears fluid and in constant motion, which is the dance of life – ever-shifting.

There is always so much more than I can express and some things that are personal to the client that I leave out, but my hope always is to capture an essence snapshot with the designs I create, that have the ability to shift experiences through their sacred symbolism and the portals they open.

I am so excited to hear that my client has already felt the activations ignite, upon her time spent with her design over the last couple of days, and I cannot wait to see it as part of her skin. I continue to excite with her at the beautiful journey she is creating and sharing.

I love what I do and and am grateful that I can be of service in this way by doing something that is so meaningful to me. I cherish my clients and the ability to share this gift.

Paisley & Peacock – A Faery’s Realm Unfolds Through Sacred Tattoo Design

Sacred Tattoo DesignI enjoyed an enchanted weekend in nature both at the ocean and in the canyon forests, which not only provided this faery some revitalization, but was the perfect invigorating energy to channel this newest sacred tattoo design, for a fellow faery client.

The original piece stands just over 5” tall and just under 5” wide and will be sitting over my client’s higher heart area of her upper back.

What came through as the elements to include were a peacock, faery, the OM symbol, and a lush touch of paisley accent – all either elements my client shared a love and resonance for, or that channeled as a mirror of her reflection.

The result being a mythical peacock cradling the faery as if she is inside of a blossoming bud or lush garden sanctuary of the peacock’s feather brilliance – expansive consciousness and radiance unfolding.

The peacock is her familiar, guide, and aspect of her higher self supporting her inner and outer journey, and a reflection of her inner beauty, gifts and dreams in all of their glory. The faery, my client, stands with grace, peace, simplicity, vulnerability, and courage, with hand to her higher heart, feeling, sharing, healing from this loving space – her purpose in life – through all that she is, as is reflected by the peacock. From here she also is taking a vow to self to commit to following her heart’s passions, being all that she can be, and committing to her path.

The peacock’s tail feathers are like the journey of this path she will take…including the twists and turns and yet all part of the beautiful perfection that the exploration will take her. The design is almost like a blossom in its shape, that sits at the higher heart, revealing my client’s authentic self at center. The faery stands in grounded strength, and balance, as the peacock dances around her…representing peace within the dance of life being possible, no matter what comes.

To break it down, for those of who you enjoy symbolism, here are some words on each of the elements interwoven.

Peacock symbolism: a symbol of integrity, the beauty we can achieve through showing our authentic, true colors, guidance, protection, holiness, nobility, vibrancy, helps you on your spiritual path, breathes new life into your experience, rejuvenates self-esteem, expands your creativity and imagination, and speaks to your courage to show up as your unique self.

Om symbolism: conveys an understanding of the very ancient, primitive universal principles, as it represents the sound of life and the harmonic tone of all creation. It also symbolizes the sacred, oneness, totality, creation, evolution, sustaining, manifestation, divine expression, eternity, and indestructible truth.

Paisley symbolism: resembling a twisted tear-drop the paisley design is of Persian and Indian origin, but the modern name, “paisley” is of Scottish descent, made fashionable in Europe by the town of Paisley in Central Scotland. The paisley design is rich in spiritual and symbolic meaning. In India, the paisley signified the time of harvest, a time of both socio-economic and spiritual significance. “Paisley is an art form representing the totality of life within a drop. Fertility, creation, abundance, all of what is necessary to bring something into being. Paisley was created into botanical drawings by the Europeans which points to their organic nature and connection, encompassing an entire plant from seed to root to blossom with their shape, which is essentially a spiral. Spirals are ancient symbols of the intersection of physical and spiritual, and connect with DNA.  Paisley is a great tool for meditation that can be used to zone in and out at the same time.”

Faery symbolism: of course faeries connect us to the elemental world, the organic, Nature and Mother Earth, and the magickal. At the spiritual level they symbolize access to the world of extrasensory perception. They symbolize hopes and dreams, living an enchanted life, and the dance of life fully experienced and sensually enjoyed. They represent good luck, a happy life, and fulfillment of wishes, as well as help there to guide you.

Sacred Throat Chakra Tattoo Design

Sacred Throat Chakra Tattoo Design

I’m loving the energy evolution of new designs that are channeling through. The more courageously vulnerable people are in sharing with me, the more effervescent the co-creative channel between us for flowing inspiration!

For this latest piece, a few things really stood out to me energetically from my client’s sharing, which resulted in what ended up coming through while designing. I always hone in on what would be most empowering and how can it effectively be symbolically and artistically designed to capture that very essence needed.

So this latest sacred tattoo design I created is intended to go over the back of their neck (mirroring the pit of  their throat) so it lies at the upper back area and flows out and down slightly in its graceful flow to the sides, sort of energetically framing the way the shoulders begin in curvature. I incorporated the Throat Chakra symbol and energy this time and saw how I could transpose a Peacock utilizing part of it and then flowing out from it. As some know, the Throat Chakra is how you express yourself to the world and to have it strong and healthy is signified by how openly and honestly you express yourself. Empowering it supports courageous, vulnerable and authentic creative self-expression – your voice in the world, unique to you. It aids the flow and openness of communication, telepathy, and creative expression with clear and uninhibited emotions so the energy center remains unblocked and unrestricted, allowing you to bring forth your innate, unique inner truth and beauty to the world through the gifts you have to share. It allows also for you to be humble, open, and receptive to others’ uniqueness simultaneously. I felt that this focus of empowering the truth of my client’s inner voice would help guide them in aligning their actions in accord with the times. This will help them to express themselves more and more fully, as they desired, and to back it up with their authenticity of courageous self-expression without judgment or fear. A way to also “eat life” through the energy exchange of this center in giving out and receiving as they communicate their gifts in joyous voice to the world. It will also aid and promote clarity.

The Peacock was something they were drawn to and it felt appropriate for them and this design, as the Peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty you can achieve when you endeavor to show your true colors. So it empowers the theme of my client’s authentic, creative self-expression. They say to contemplate the powers of the Peacock when you need more vibrancy and vitality in your experience. The Peacock can also help you on your spiritual path, and breathe new life into your walk of faith. The Peacock can rejuvenate self-esteem levels too and revive from that “blah” and blue feeling – just imagine the glorious, techno-color display the Peacock provides. So the Peacock helps support you in embracing your own nobility – again a great partnering energy with the Throat Chakra energy of courageous, authentic, creative self-expression. Peacocks also represent: glory, vision, royalty, spirituality, awakening, immortality, refinement, incorruptibility.

My client was also drawn to Mehndi inspired designs, but with more flow and less blocky-ness or primitive feel. So the design I was inspired to create to really emanate out the beauty of their personal self-expressive center is a flowing and graceful design with Mehndi influence. It includes the Peacock and I wanted to also incorporate the elemental and sort of alchemical connection they have with herbs – particularly Alchemilla that they have a strong relationship with. I incorporated five of these  (mirroring the energy of the 5th Throat Chakra) around the design. Five signifying change and transformative ability, as well as versatility and flexibility, as the Throat Chakra is also the energy center for change and removing resistances to flowing with the new. I love the reference of this lovely medicinal herb as genus “Alchemilla” that comes from Arabic Alkemelych (alchemy) meaning “little magical one”.

I feel there is a good balance of earth and spirituality energies in the “alchemy” of this sacred tattoo for my client that integrates as it empowers, within and without. The flow of the design, if you follow it, is almost spiraling, as well, which is like creating a living symbol that is moving the energy of this chakra – keeping it flowing and stimulated, abundantly lush and in full bloom. There is an organic, yet refined quality simultaneously imbued in the design too.

Another unique co-creative journey of sacred tattoo design empowerment!
