Transformation & Birthing Anew

44273516_10216910984514055_2870597441604812800_n.jpg

I imagine I’m not the only one feeling such incredible energies of fertile possibility around every corner. I find dream time wildly infused with layers of dreams after dreams that are either other timelines, foretelling, psychic touch-ins, or clearly symbolic of things playing out. And yes, definitely the identity shifts, rebirthing, and kundalini energy Lee Harris has themed for the month are hugely washing over and through me still – so much so I have deemed October the month of firmly and clearly establishing the new through developing daily scheduling, finding my flow amidst that, and deepening into essence.

I found myself purging, clearing, reorganizing, and redecorating when I thought I was done. This has involved:

  • donating or sharing with others several more bags of clothes and other items going out
  • re-imagining a 1/4 of my office including removal of the center piece to my room and a whole redo of my shelves – this won’t be fully done, as I’m awaiting some things to come in November and December, but for now is complete and oh so fresh (This included moving out the last old piece I had for 10 years, which felt important since everything else in my office is new)
  • making tons of room in my office closet to help with this
  • establishing the new style of clothing to mirror who I am now (this involves a two-part me for my active outdoor lifestyle and athletic center training and the personal lifestyle outside of that) – this always feels pivotal for full embodiment inside and out and feels much clearer than ever now
  • receiving new plants as gifts, bringing in a couple from outside for the cold months ahead, and finding new homes and decorative stands for them inside that added warmth and indoor garden delight
  • establishing our new exercise program we started on October 1st, which involves 5 days a week of training and classes that after the first couple of weeks of feeling out what we liked, is now fully established in our calendars – this will amp up with ski season added into the mix and for now involves at least 3 days of hiking as well
  • working on creating my daily schedule (just about done) to include everything on my intention list – something new since I don’t really have a schedule although manage to get things done – this feels important to be more focused and deliberate, but flowing in and out of several aspects of balanced life and work that I want to accomplish – doing this will keep me moving forward
  • dreaming up new aspects to this blog, as well as all that I’ll be involved in, which will soon have a new direction
  • planning some upcoming Winter travels
  • keeping focused on the goals we have for our life

And this big transformation has been reflected in not one, but now two rare Rubber Boas we’ve come across on our hiking paths recently.

The first you may recall was when Laura was visiting and we were descending from Eagle Lake. This first one was a luminous copper baby Rubber Boa – she captivated me!

And the second was just this past weekend on Saturday when an adult Rubber Boa was laying across the path we were hiking to Lake Tahoe from our house, on our return back home. This one was large and very worm-like – her coloring a coppery green (best I can describe it as) and she was sunning herself with her little tongue zipping in and out with slithery delight. I had a feeling it was another Rubber Boa, but had it confirmed when I looked it up and saw her exact duplicate in online photos. I say rare, because we have only ever seen the Garter Snakes here on hikes, but this is the first two times to see Rubber Boas and within just weeks of each other – both non-poisonous. Both Boas just laid there and let me talk to them. So curious and sweet!

This last Sunday I also found myself hiking 6 miles on my own while the boys were mountain biking. This was incredibly invigorating and renewed another level of my connection to nature, as I wandered the wrong right paths, connected with wonders around me, and even birthed a new sound channeling I haven’t done in a while. I shared the adventure and sound video on my Instagram. The photo above is from this hike where I was tickled with joy by the grove of baby pine trees I stumbled upon and laid with.

And the rebirthing has been reflected in not just the snake, kundalini energy, but in a powerful birthing dream I had a couple of nights ago – AGAIN. I say, “again” because this is now about the 3rd or 4th time within several months that I dream of myself giving birth. And interestingly, in this dream I gave birth back-to-back twice! I was pregnant in the dream and being assisted by a woman or female energy, who assured me it would be simple and easy – like a click I would feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. And just as she said, I felt that click and instantly the labor happened in one easy release. No pushing, pain, or anything. I never actually saw the baby come out, but something did.

This feels symbolic of my book process and my editor – she has also shown up in Tarot cards and in my dreams.

So, indeed it was symbolic of me birthing anew and may not be limited to the book, although it’s the biggest focus right now. It can also speak to the newness all around.

And this repeated a second time – this time a male and female energy assisting and this time the click was taking a bit longer, so they induced it with a little tapping at my lower back and poof! Another easy release. Talk about potent.

I have a feeling on this one too. 😉

I can only imagine this means the new I’m feeling led to bring forth will in fact not be as hard or challenging as my mind could easily make it. It will just be a very involved process and a committed one at that – perhaps even 9 months worth just like it would be to bring an actual human baby into the world. A successful release of creative energy and joyous passion is the potential awaiting the channeling ahead.

And that’s all that truly matters – that we are having fun and supporting the flow of our unique creativity into the world in ways relative to each of us. No other result than expression is the power we long for. If we allow that energy to get stuck, that’s when we find ourselves blocked in other areas of our lives too.

Where are you feeling stuck in your life and how can you help to move that energy through a creative outlet, idea, way of self-expression, support of a passion, etc. that you have and feel bubbling inside?

These are ways I use dreams and nature to reflect to me messages and guidance.

We have so many things, mirrors, gifts, and tools available to us. Are you present to seeing all the support and guidance you have around too?

We can even ask for our dreams to show us things, if we think we aren’t “getting it” in other ways. The same with nature and messages in general – we can ask for reflections, but you must be present to embrace them, as they will come in ways you’re not even thinking are possible.

Presence is SO important and is another message I feel to be incredibly key for us all. It helps you respond, rather than react. It helps you to see all of the support you DO actually have. It helps you have more gratitude. It helps you to know yourself, others, and everything around you more. It helps you to trust.

Last night I did a big Reiki Healing Attunement for some intentions and wishes that included things close to home and for friends and family I know could use a little boost, and of course Astrid doesn’t skip a beat in helping. There’s a part in the process where I blow violet breath and when I blew, Astrid stretched huge and yawned and while I was finishing stuff in the heart chakra, she was licking her giant Tahoe mother quartz on the ground!

She is enjoying all of the new energy, but also excited to get a stronger move-on with the writing she’s waiting to assist with again.

I haven’t had much time yet to delve deeply in that the last couple of weeks other than ideas because it became evident I needed to get all of these things worked out and in place. There’s something important about solidity, clarity, and anchoring to really support the new in greater flow, ease, and efficiency.

So, I’ve been utilizing the time to research, finish reading the last book I have to help with my writing, have some key things to continue clarifying and journaling about, and organizing all of my notes and processes to implement.

This will also involve that new blog series I’ve now made mention of twice and I promise to share it very soon! Perhaps even this week, but it won’t officially begin until Monday, October 29th.

Astrid is especially pleased about this, as soon she’ll have her own spot on part of this new blog series upcoming. Stay tuned!!

Roadrunner Medicine – Shifting with Grace, Ease and Agility

This weekend I was able to spend long days at the beach, while balancing my time working in the morning and evening, as well as giving myself good mental breaks from everything. One of the significant things that stood out from my time at the ocean, aside from some really powerful shifts from things I was reading, was seeing a sight I had never seen before – the mating dance of roadrunners.

I first saw a roadrunner on top of this structure on the hill that provides some shade over the benches. I mentioned that even they like to look out at the ocean, as perched up high there he could oversea the ocean ahead. As I walked, he jumped off the structure and went down the path I was going and disappeared. Then I came upon him again, but he was not alone.

He was engaged in a very unusual mating dance with a female. I’d never witnessed this before and found it really special to have them just feet away engaging in this sacred ritual. After a while though it seemed that the male got shy 🙂 and he went behind a bush and peeked out at us. It was actually really cute and then he went off in the bushes and the female who had been playing hard to get was looking around like, “Hey what happened? I’m over here!” and then scurried off to chase after HIM this time.

Being witness to this I felt, as I always do with anything I take notice of, to be symbolically messaging me. It reminded me that I did a post on the roadrunner medicine and that I had found a roadrunner feather not long ago, that sits on my altar.

After re-reading the symbolic messages that roadrunner has to share, I can see the significance and am grateful for this encounter with the two of them.

Here is the post I did on them so you can read about roadrunner symbolism and see if it speaks to you as well.

Tania Marie

The Universe speaks to us daily if we are open to receiving, which may mean upping our presence and awareness so we can catch wind of the whispering message. Many times the symbolism comes through nature, animal spirit guides, number sequences, things people say, encounters, our bodies, through challenges, or a sign you literally or symbolically receive.

I choose to see everything as symbolic and a message…that’s just my magickal way of living and it serves my life well.

I always see a lot of animal spirit guide wisdom when I’m out in nature and last weekend was no exclusion to this. Tons of dolphins, lots of Monarch butterflies, various birds -hawk, turkey vulture, seagull, roadrunner, quail, with newly hatched itty bitty ones, horned toad lizard, and toad. Some of these new in my experience, others, seem to be regulars. 🙂

But two really stood out and that was finding…

A Little Full Moon Snake Dream Activation

snakeI hope everyone is doing their best to absorb the Cancer Full Moon’s supportive energy, as you move through change and learn to embody more of your authenticity and live from your personal frequency at its highest.

It’s been unusually warm here and continues to feel like a lot of mystery and potency is thick in the air. That sense of pending “something” has been the seed space where I draw my inspirational guidance and nurtured faith from.

This is a post about a personal experience from last night that I share in case any of you also find the symbolism I speak of to also be showing up for you in your own unique way, and also to express the power of Reiki and intention.

I had a particularly average “Tania” day yesterday and did do a few distant Reiki sessions that happened to fall on the Full Moon, which added to their own potency. I then ended my work day with my own Reiki Healing Attunement, which I like to do for myself now and then, but on Full Moons as well, since I have a strong connection with the Moon.

I focused intention on several things, much of the time the intentions are more symbolic in essence and carry a range of meaning with them. I like to focus on the essence of intentions because it then has the ability to create an outcome that would be of highest good to all, rather than me limiting it.

Anyway, as usual, a couple of the things instantly started manifesting, (it’s 11:11 as I wrote that 🙂 – I took a break for lunch before ending this post) and one of them got carried over into dream work/experiencing time, which is where a lot of powerful things are processed, integrated, and put into action, since there is no separation between waking and dreaming hours.

I love the one particular dream from last night that I clearly remember, as it directly was linked to one of my intentions – that of “My Voice is Strong”.

This has multiple layers of meaning for me, but in essence speaks to empowering my own personal frequency expression, which I believe so strongly in, as being an important key to cultivate so as to live by example and be of greatest benefit to the collective. Your individual “voice” needs to be heard. And understanding, knowing, revealing, and sharing its individual resonance with the world, however that channels through your unique gifts, is vital and valuable. And you learn who you are as a self within this collective web, when you heal from the inside out and discover what it feels to truly be you without the conditioning learned.

What happened next in my dream (or what I feel to be another dimensional reality of my total experience that melds with waking life) I am so grateful for, as the symbolism and experience is more than I could have hoped to create. The dream was very clear and very real. Without going into detail, basically there were a lot of snakes showing up around me, but they would show up one at a time and they seemed to have an agenda, which was me. 🙂

It wasn’t a threatening feeling however, although they were all venomous snakes. They seemed to be different Asps, which come from the Nile region of Egypt (a very key element for me in association with the intent and my personal soul history). Anyway, three came at me, but from a hovering position in the air where they would extend backwards like a boomerang, aim, and then shoot towards me. The first one was like in slow motion and I moved almost in Matrix-like slow motion to avoid it. I’m not sure where it was aiming, but I felt compelled to contort away and so it just grazed my left arm, as it shot passed me. But the next 2 were on point and I didn’t seem to move from them either, as if part of me knew what was in store.

The first of these 2 was a smaller Asp and the second, a much larger one. I don’t remember how, but they both successfully got inside my mouth long enough to bite the back wall of it on the right side of my tonsils (right actually made more sense than left for me energetically) and leaving their venom before boomeranging back out. I remember I could see the two round wounds from where they bit me, each were a bit larger than a quarter and almost feathered at the edges as if like petals of a flower with a large round center.

The venom did not kill me, but seemed to be like an alchemical potion of induced activation that was mixing with my energy to create further transmutation.

How’s that for “strengthening my voice”?

Rather than go into the depth of meaning for myself, as we will all take away our own and it’s actually much too long a story, I believe this demonstrates enough of the symbolism and was quite a gift from my Full Moon Reiki Healing Attunement I gave to myself.

Today, I woke up with a different feeling – one I can’t explain, but I know is part of this activation unfolding and will continue to.

When I was in Egypt for the first of two trips I made in this life, it was a personal kundalini activation like no other that initiated what this gift from the Asps has expounded upon for the next leg of the journey for my own empowered personal frequency. There is a reason I wear an Egyptian Asp on my right hand 😉

I’m telling you, your intentions, coupled with commitment, belief, and willingness to do what it takes, not to mention the power of Reiki and aligning with the rhythms of Earth and Cosmos does manifest as changes you wish to create.

Anyway, in case any of you might be seeing snakes, are going through some “skin shedding” into a more authentic frequency of you, or are reading this and going through what snakes herald in your life, so the timing of their message speaks to you, I will repost the messages and medicine of snakes again below (as I’ve posted on snakes before), so that you can see what it means for you.

Snakes symbolize transmutation, cycles, rebirth, resurrection, patience, wisdom, fertility, creation energy, eternity, connection to the shadow worlds, secret knowledge, pointed focus, assertive power, primordial life force, search for balance, cunning, intuition, awareness, initiation, healing, intellect, protection, solemnity, rejuvenation, transformation, the hidden or occult, knowledge, male/female duality, and kundalini energy.

Snake totem is the power of creation and embodies immortality and psychic energy. The snake has fire energy which translate emotionally as: charisma, intellect, power and the intellect, spiritually as: connection with Spirit, wisdom, wholeness and understanding, and physically as: vitality and passion.

Snakes can herald unexpected changes abound and the need for cautious, careful planning, while remaining as flexible and versatile as you can (like the Snake) in order to flow with the changes and strike at opportune and aligned moments. If you are able to ride the transformative waves by embracing the energies present, you can aid a return to balance and harmony, rather than get caught in the imbalances – all to help you evolve.

Snakes also symbolize a time for deep transformation and healing, major out-of-the-blue changes, a time for reflection, going within, and withdrawing rather than being involved in tons of social situations, in order to focus on steady, methodical progress, details and serious responsibility.

This is a good time for “shedding” the very deep-rooted old in order to release and begin anew, realizing that hidden aspects may surface for your gentle integration. Having all of your senses on conscious-awareness-high-volume will aid you in not being taken by surprise, as well as assist in understanding the perfection of the unfolding. This is a great time for physical healing of the body as well as moving into a more spiritual way of life, if you haven’t already. Or, you will start integrating more of this into your life in deeper ways – having it become your way of being, rather than a novelty or side focus.

“When the world turns and we operate at our own personal vibration, it is in our power to withhold our dignity and integrity at the highest possible frequency, with this as an active force, we can command our reality in the physical realm. Justly, we shall take all the opportunity that manifests itself in arms reach. To be one, and to have and do what we dream is concurrent only on a high wavelength, and operative to those who seek a higher sense of self. Are you ready to expand to these levels of operation? Have you taken the steps? Step forward and release all your fears.” ~Will Barnes

Roadrunner Medicine – Shifting with Grace, Ease and Agility

But two really stood out and that was finding a full shedded snake skin and a roadrunner tail feather.

I loved the symbolism of the snake skin. Already knowing and having written about the snake symbolism and our being in the year of the snake, I found it especially potent to discover this. To me, speaking to shedding off the old in fullness of renewal that is birthing. That is exactly what it feels like.

roadrunnerAnd the roadrunner tail feather felt very special and powerful too. It appeared about an hour after seeing a road runner and just minutes before discovering the snake skin.

Roadrunners teach us many things and the crest on its head particularly speaks to including quick thinking and agility, mental sharpness, fast responses and reflexes, and knowing when to strike in timely alignment, quickly and efficiently with precision and utter focus. Roadrunner shows the direction to take that will be of best use of proper resources, energy, timing and speed in order to make quick changes with harmony and grace. The crest to me also signifies higher thinking and aligning with Universal Consciousness and bringing that into the Earth experience (since they run closely to the ground) to use alchemy in order to bulls eye intentions.

They represent the ability to move easily between dimensions, change directions in an instance, change any circumstance by shifting perspectives and thoughts, and also teach us about self-honor and self-nurturing coming first in order to remain balanced and to be able to support others from this place of harmony and strength.

Roadrunner can also catch snakes and eat them while they go about their business (often seen running while a snake hangs from their beak)…interesting having discovered the snake skin after the Roadrunner tail feather. This speaks to being able to multi-task and digest things slowly – that what we learn can always be digested later and is percolating in the background regardless of if we understand its meaning at the time. It is not necessary to always understand the meaning of something immediately. Allowing time for reflection and digestion will bring the message when it is ready and in the mean time, the benefits are still taking effect.

All of this speaks perfectly to me and the medicine I strongly feel present around. It also feels very supportive to the collective energy in helping us all process things more quickly as we are shifting, and in aiding that process to be much easier and developmental of the abilities we have latent. Change is natural and inevitable. Changing with grace and embrace is key to harmony.

I am grateful for the gift of this beautiful and powerful feather that fell through the dimensional door I have entered.

road runnerI love this sharing that comes from Shirley TwoFeathers on The Metaphysical Roadrunner that offers more insight into the symbolism of Roadrunner medicine:

OK… so I found the definitive information on what Roadrunners represent as totems and messages from spirit. The short version looks like this: Roadrunner represents quick thinking, being able to shift dimensions easily, and being able to switch directions quickly.

For a more in depth understanding, there’s all this:

Roadrunners are ground dwelling cuckoos ranging in length from 20 to 24 inches from the tip of its tail to the end of its beak. Legend has it that the roadrunner got its name from running on the road alongside horse drawn carriages. Also known as the chaparral cock this legendary bird is famous for its distinctive appearance, its ability to eat rattlesnakes and its preferences for scooting across the American deserts as seen in Warner Brothers cartoons.

Because of its lightening quickness, the roadrunner is one of the few animals that preys upon rattlesnakes. Using its wings like a matador’s cape, it snaps up a coiled rattlesnake by the tail, cracks it like a whip and repeatedly slams its head against the ground till dead. It then swallows its prey whole, but is often unable to swallow the entire length at one time. This does not stop the roadrunner from its normal routine. It will continue to meander about with the snake dangling from its mouth, consuming another inch or two as the snake slowly digests.

Although speed is its ally time is irrelevant to the roadrunner. It can do several things at once and isn’t bothered with completing one thing before moving on to the next. This is partly due to its great mental agility represented by the crest on its head.. Many native cultures believe a “crest” symbolizes quick and efficient thinking capabilities. Those with this medicine have the ability to think quickly on their feet, flow with rapid change and understand the proper use of speed.

The roadrunner is a large black and white mottled ground bird. It has strong feet, a long tail and an over sized bill. It can run up to 17 miles per hour. When the roadrunner senses danger or is traveling downhill, it flies, but it cannot keep its large body airborne for more than a few seconds and so, it prefers walking or running. It has a clownish gait when running or walking and reminds us to laugh with ourselves and not take things too seriously.

The roadrunner is a vocal bird producing a variety of sounds from crows, chuckles, clacking and coos. Roadrunner asks us to use sound to benefit ourselves. Distract unwanted influences or say the right thing at the right time. By listening to the roadrunner we discover the right tone to use in any situation from a low coo to a screeching chuckle. Sound as well as speed can pierce through a situation and change its energy. Shamans are known to use both to shape shift realities when necessary.

Roadrunners are uniquely suited to desert environments and inhabit open, flat or rolling terrain with scattered cover of dry brush, chaparral or other desert scrub. When spring arrives, the male roadrunner acquires food for himself and then offers choice morsels to a female as an inducement to mating. He often dances around her while she begs for food, then gives her the morsel after breeding briefly. Roadrunner teaches us the importance of honoring our personal needs first before giving to others. Some might think of this as a selfish act but in truth it is a balanced one. Although roadrunner has an ulterior motive when offering the female food (that of breeding) it carries the message of survival. Take care of yourself first and then assist others.

Because roadrunner is always thinking of ways to get what it wants it reminds those with this medicine to use the ingenuity of their minds. If a problem occurs “think” yourself out of it. Highly intelligent, roadrunner medicine people have the mental capabilities to fix or change any situation. Procrastination is not part of this medicine. Roadrunner reminds us that mental alertness, speedy action coupled with the right use of sound always produces harmonious outcomes.

Enchanted Encounter: Rattlesnake Medicine Crosses My Path

hiking

View of Catalina from the Pacific Ridge Trailhead

It was another beautiful weekend here with time immersed in nature hiking. This weekend I hiked 12 miles total with 8 of those miles being today. I also got some work done, had some fun outings, visited the Natural Products Expo West, and got errands accomplished for the week as well. It’s amazing how productive I am and more fulfilled because of the efforts I’ve made to make sure I’m balancing my life and intentfully giving myself the grounding and recharging time with Mother Nature.

hikeRight now I’m feeling revitalized after the day’s enlivening hike and activities, a nice refreshing shower, and a little treat of vegan raw chocolate, as I sit here to share this post. 😉 As I was just sharing with a friend, I always believe in quality not quantity and that even just a few intentful minutes or a 1/2 hour spent in nature or doing something totally self nurturing makes a difference and is invaluable.

hikeToday was a clear day at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead, the fields and hills were lush and green, the skies blue, the flowers starting to bloom, the sun warm, and the breeze nice and cool on my sun-kissed skin. The hike took us on a climb of about 900 feet and at the top there is a beautiful camp site point with benches overlooking the vista. On days like today, you can clearly see Catalina across the Pacific and while sitting there taking the view in, I also clearly heard a sea lion at the coast. Amazing!

But the highlight of today was being enchanted by a little Snake Medicine. Miss Rattlesnake decided to cross my path on the incline up the hill. This is actually the first time I’ve seen a rattlesnake in nature, which I found to be auspicious given we are in the Year of the Snake. I’ve seen a few snakes on some of my travels and while living in Sedona, but never here in California or on any of my hikes. So this truly was a magickal treat!

I was so excited and without fear, as I love snakes. Interestingly, just a minute before seeing her, I had seen a twisted branch in the path that looked like a coiled rattlesnake in its pre-striking mode and had thought, wow that looks just like a snake from afar, until I came upon it and saw it for what it was. Then directly after, I see a long patterned curvy branch ahead and said, gee that looks like a snake again, but this time it actually was. Seems the first sighting I had consciously observed in awareness, was a little message of what was up ahead and speaks to how we can learn to read signs.

rattlesnakeShe (the rattlesnake) was lovely (although my not so good photos don’t reveal her beauty) and seemed to be enjoying the beautiful day and sunshine just as we were, and the other people hiking today. On a journey of her own, she was intent on peacefully crossing the path into the brush, but had stopped long enough to allow our energetic encounter. Right at the end, just as she had fully crossed the path and was going over a hump to descend the hill, she gave a little rattle of her tail, which felt to be a mutual acknowledgment and I chimed back with a resounding, “thank you, it was a pleasure to connect with you too.”

Interestingly, just after reaching her, three young women had approached from the other side of the path and had stopped in fear and were backing up and ready to turn around the other way saying there’s no way they’re going that way. But miss Tania had slowly and respectfully gotten closer, about 6 to 10 feet away at different intervals of traversing the path, to connect with her some more.

snakeI found it an interesting experience of how people approach life that was perfectly being demonstrated at opposite sides of the snake.

The three girls were on her right, which would be linked with the left brain and more analytical and mental side, and I was on her left, which is linked with the right brain and more intuitive, feeling and creative side. The way we each either reacted, or responded, was exactly corresponding to where we were standing, both symbolically and literally. This made me ponder how we have a choice to approach life with fear or with love and when we learn to embrace things that seem scary as a shadow aspect of our own nature, we instantly perform transmutational alchemy that will shift our entire experience into wholeness.

Now that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t take precautions and act wisely, nor does it negate that people have legitimate fears that could use some nurtured healing. However, if we find ourselves up against similar fear-induced situations that hold us back from the very things we want or that would support our growth to achieve what we want, then perhaps there is something worth taking a look at in our process that could make a difference.

rattlesnakeI found that the powerful snake medicine shared with me today was another beautiful gift that reminded me of the sweet man on the Chinese New Year who happened to see my snake tattoo and then came over to me to give me a red envelope of two gold $1 coins for an abundant year.

As shared in that post:

2013 is the Year of the Black Water Snake. Changeability, mobility, and dynamism are the Water characteristics that the Black Snake will embody. The reigning color is black, which is the color of deep waters, space, and abyss and hence will carry the creation, visionary, and imagination energies, as well as the energy of the emotions, unconscious, spiritual focus in life, dedication to quiet introspection, interest in understanding the underlying meanings and mechanics of life, flowing, and pooling your resources together in readiness and strength so you are ready to make a move forward when opportunities present themselves.

rattlesnakeThis heralds a year of unexpected changes abound and the need for cautious, careful planning, while remaining as flexible and versatile as you can (like the Snake) in order to flow with the changes and strike at opportune and aligned moments. If you are able to ride the transformative waves by embracing the energies present, you can aid a return to balance and harmony, which this collective #6 year is about, rather than get caught in the imbalances and inconstancy that will be brought in with the Snake year – all to help you evolve and learn to “be” the energy of Water, which shifts in chameleon-like ways.

In summary, some other things the energy of the year will bring includes a time for deep transformation and healing, major out-of-the-blue changes, a time for reflection, going within, and withdrawing rather than being involved in tons of social situations, in order to focus on steady, methodical progress, details and serious responsiblity.

This will also be a time for “shedding” the very deep-rooted old in order to release and begin anew, realizing that hidden aspects may surface for your gentle integration. Having all of your senses on conscious-awareness-high-volume will aid you in not being taken by surprise, as well as assist in understanding the perfection of the unfolding. This is a great year for physical healing of the body as well as moving into a more spiritual way of life, if you haven’t already. Or, you will start integrating more of this into your life in deeper ways – having it become your way of being, rather than a novelty or side focus.

Seems like things continue to kick off with some potent energy this year! I’m really enjoying the journey of 2013 so far and the amazing things that are unfolding.

Happy Chinese New Year of the Snake! – Shed into Your Inherent Truth

I posted this “Year of the Snake” information a little over a week ago in a blog about this weekend’s Reiki workshops and particularly today’s Reiki Master Teacher workshop I would have been teaching, coinciding with the Chinese New Year. The workshops are being rescheduled due to the storm that cancelled all flights, but synchronously, not being there this weekend created a brief, but auspicious and magickal experience last night for me, alongside some other supportive unfoldings personally.

Red envelopeA very sweet man (I could feel his warm heart through his gentle eyes) walked up to me while we were out eating dinner with a friend at our local vegan restaurant – Native Foods, just a couple of blocks away. He immediately noted seeing my snake tattoo on my hand and wrist, which I have had many people stop me about, so I figured he was going to ask about it. However, he did not discuss the tattoo itself, but said that it was the snake that drew him over to give me something. He then proceeded to share how the Chinese New Year – the Year of the Snake was upon us and that if you’re given an envelope of money at this time, you will have an abundantly prosperous year in many ways. He then sweetly handed me this lovely red and gold envelope with two golden $1 coins.

I was aware of the Chinese New Year of the Snake and its symbolism, but I had not been familiar with this tradition of a red envelope exchange. The red symbolizes luck and traditional red envelopes are often decorated with gold Chinese characters like happiness and wealth.

It was so magickal, but moreso it reminded me of a recent quote I posted from my morning Yogi tea:

“Goodness should become human nature, because it is real in nature.”

I remember pondering this and my feelings about it, as well as explored the implications. I also remembered a conversation I had on my hike yesterday (hiking or walking is where the best conversations and channeling come I have found) that revealed my heart believing that inherently there is good and kind-heartedness in all of us, just sometimes on its journey to discover it.

So it was a beautiful little universal gift to connect in that moment with this man and this belief-in-manifestation…one of those stand-still-in-time moments where I could see and feel the bigger and little picture, all at once. There was something about this man and this small token of generosity and giving that substantiated my beliefs, but also felt to be demonstrating an allegorical symbolism (something discussed on our hike).

Needless to say, it was a loving experience and I feel blessed and grateful, continuing to believe that there IS so much goodness out there and how important it is to keep cultivating it.

Anyway, I wanted to wish everyone a beautiful, happy, healthy, and abundant Chinese New Year of the Snake and pass along the good blessings, fortuitous experiences, love, and joy to each of you.

My sacred snake tattooHere is some symbolism about the energy of this year that I posted in an earlier blog:

Snakes symbolize cycles, rebirth, patience, fertility, creation energy, eternity, connection to the shadow worlds, secret knowledge, pointed focus, assertive power, primoridal life force, search for balance, eternity, cunning, intuition, awareness, healing, intellect, protection, solemnity, rejuvenation, transformation, the hidden or occult, knowledge, male/female duality, and kundalinin energy.

Water snakes, or nagas, embody the feminine aspects of nurturing, benevolent, wise qualities, in addition.

This heralds a year of unexpected changes abound and the need for cautious, careful planning, while remaining as flexible and versatile as you can (like the Snake) in order to flow with the changes and strike at opportune and aligned moments.

Or, you will start integrating more of this into your life in deeper ways – having it become your way of being, rather than a novelty or side focus.

tangerine treeIncidentally, right after I posted this I felt called to go out and pick tangerines. Yes, it’s that time of the year again and our tangerine tree is ready for harvesting. I just got my first bag full (using some in my morning smoothie), but tons more to go (this is just a portion of the underside of the tree – got about 300 last year). I suddenly remembered just a year ago (only 4 days off actually) I posted this blog on celebrating the Chinese New Year tangerine style and their symbolism: Symbols of Luck and Prosperity and it seemed a bit synchronous and auspicious that I felt guided to harvest our bountiful tree right now, on the Chinese New Year, and after receiving my red envelope surprise last evening. As I expressed in my Facebook post earlier today, alongside a matching quote, I am happy to be a child that sees magick in everything. Life IS magickal – at least I believe so, and so it is!

Empowering the Year of the Snake – Chinese New Year & Reiki Master Teacher Training

Year of the SnakeWhen Venus and I set up our upcoming Reiki and Yoga Workshop Weekend in New Jersey, we hadn’t realized that Sunday’s Reiki Master Teacher class would coincide with the Chinese New Year of February 10th – The Year of the Snake. One of my dear friends and soon to be Reiki Master Teacher attending this class brought it to my attention when she discovered the beautiful and empowering symbolism it held for her, along with the alignment of pulling a Snake/Healer card for herself in conjunction for the class meaning. I LOVE synchronicity!

After this discovery I felt that the weekend would be receiving additional transformative empowerment energy, along with extra divine support for all who are attending, given we had followed only our intuitive guidance on dates. It also felt very aligned for my own journey and process as well, especially given my connection with snakes (I do happen to wear 2 sacred snake tattoos – one of which sits entwined on my right hand/wrist used in Reiki sessions and attunements). Afterall, snake symbolism and energy is SO aligned with the effects of the Reiki training and initiation attunements we will be experiencing this day and weekend. Plus, what a powerful way to celebrate the Chinese New Year together in the energy of Reiki and all that it brings, individually and collectively, in opening to.

We only have 11 days now until our weekend workshop adventures of heart begin and the last day to register is 2/7. If you are in the area and would like to register, we still have some space left. You can email me at tania@taniamarie.com to do so. For all of the details about the workshops in New Jersey on 2/9 and 2/10, please see the link above.

In light of this, I thought it would be supportive to touch on a little about snake symbolism and the energy of this Year of the Snake soon-to-be, in order to shed a little understanding of what you have to work with while you continue your chosen journey.

Snakes symbolize cycles, rebirth, patience, fertility, creation energy, eternity, connection to the shadow worlds, secret knowledge, pointed focus, assertive power, primoridal life force, search for balance, eternity, cunning, intuition, awareness, healing, intellect, protection, solemnity, rejuvenation, transformation, the hidden or occult, knowledge, male/female duality, and kundalinin energy.

(This interestingly coincides with the energies of my own #7 year I’ve personally been moving into already and so I can say from experiencing and working with this energy that if you embrace it rather than fight it, you WILL experience the rewards).

For more details on these energies summarized, along with some of the general, coinciding planetary influences, here is the Yearly Horoscope 2013 Year of the Snake from Go To Horoscope

2013 horoscope: Planets in 2013 year of the black Snake

2013 is the year of the black Snake begins on February 10th shortly after the New moon in Aquarius, the humanitarian of the zodiac. This 2013 year of Snake is meant for steady progress and attention to detail. Focus and discipline will be necessary for you to achieve what you set out to create.

The snake is a studious creature. Preferring quiet predictability to ruckus and mayhem. Peaceful solitude is also a Saturn preference. It’s not surprising that Saturn has such a strong influence during the year of the Snake.

In 2013 horoscope Saturn is in harmonious relationship to Mercury, planet of communications; Neptune, our connection to the cosmic whole; and Chiron, the wounded healer. The Trine is a supportive aspect, an aspect of past earned easy situations. A blessing, also known as Grace. But Saturn is still into hard work. It’s heavy even when it’s good. A new-found ambition to greatness will inspire you to be all you can be, and provide you with the follow through to actually achieve your goals. Saturn knows how to take on responsibility. And, the year of the Snake also supports added responsibility,

During the 2013 Snake year be prepared to feel like you are on shaky ground. Not quite settled. Uranus is active this year and likes to shake us out of false realities with sudden shocks- lightning bolt change can occur when Uranus comes out to play. Out of the blue realizations create major change. Mars is just itching to go through all this. It makes for super tense times. But also creates movement and growth.

Deep transformation and healing are often represented by the Snake. Moreover according to general 2013 horoscope Pluto exposes what is hidden through a deep revealing of subconscious material. Slowly we begin to see the reasons for things, we understand the root cause of some dysfunction. Just like the snake, slowly we shed our skin. We become shiny and new as we acknowledge and release the past.

Create a safe space to work from this 2013 year. The Snake likes protection, needs to feel safe and secure to utilize its special analytical skills. This is the year to make headway in slow and methodical ways. Saturn will assist this effort as well. Things will definitely be accomplished as you focus forward.

There is no need to put yourself out there. Consider this 2013 year to focus within. You won’t be drawn to social situations as you are more interested in serious progress not superficial chit chat. Allow yourself withdrawal as it is necessary to self reflect and ponder situations.

Celebrate the 2013 year of the black Snake with dark colored clothing. Honor this transformative beginning with a day positive thoughts. It is tradition to place a pine twig out to represent the Snake. In mythology the Snake often represented healing of the physical body while shifting to a more spiritual outlook. Slow and steady wins the race in 2013 year of Snake.
